I need to buy laptop

Hello folks..
i thought of buying a laptop..
my budget is $800..i need some suggestions..
what is good Intel or AMD ??
where can i find details of the products and their rates?

hmm.. but some of my friends say that AMD has a good built-in video memory than Intel.. Is it worth?

 

It all depends what you want the laptop for, I would recommend a Toshiba. Not had any problems at all with mine over the last 6 months.

I reccomend an hp with amd processors and 1-2 gigs of ram, its wat i use. i can play call of duty 4 and battle field 2 with it

 

It depends.... What are you going to be using it for? Business? Multi-tasking? Games?

 

No big business though.. probably multitasking and games..

I suggest you to go for dell notebook PC which is cheap and gives a better value for your money. Go to the dell website and locate your country. Configure the notebook online and order. It will be delivered at your doorstep

Well if thats your price range, it all depends what you want.

Dell offers some very good good laptops at around that price. Also you can get some good ones from HP, their pretty cheap. I would probably recommend Intel over AMD just because it is more reliable even though AMD is cheaper and slightly faster depending on the model.

Intel Core 2 Duo is the best chip I would say for notebooks/laptops at the moment. I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 myself and its not missed a beat in the last 6 months. Dell laptops are very good.

 

You want to use the laptop for multi-tasking and gaming, so I would pick an Intel laptop with a T5200+ series processor, or an AMD FX-60 processor. You will need a dual core processor, at least 2gb of ram (since vista wastes so much ram by all the default services), and 256 or 512mb dedicated graphics card (if you want the laptop mainly for gaming).

If you are an enthusiastic gamer, I suggest you buy a desktop.

I have a Dell XPS (laptop) that costs $1,349. I purchased it on Saturday from BestBuy. It is built for multi-tasking.

 

intel is nice. AMD is not so popular for laptop. dont forget to get TONs of RAM into it.

 

Yea, RAM is extremely important, make that a priority.

 

Dell makes nice laptops, so does HP but my money is always with IBM, or what is now Lenovo. I have had several IBM/Lenovo computers both for work and for some light gaming (world of warcraft) and they have performed as best as I could have hoped. If you dont have any reservations about buying a used laptop, an old T-series thinkpad is a great deal. If you are looking for newer, Lenovo is where its at...they are all easy to upgrade and maintain. The manufacturer of the processor is not as terribly important as all the rest of the components and try to stick to 1gb of ram or higher, it is a very noticeable difference when upgrading from 512 or lower.

 

if you are looking for used I would check out ebay or craigslist, you can get a lot more bang for your buck
