Even though you have valid points about international law, don't you think the above statement is a bit too far, i mean don't you think Milošević has a major role that things turned out this way? Can you geniuniely categorize everything he did under "defense"?
Probably western Macedonia. Perhaps not now but sooner or later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Albania#Territories_claimed
it will be the hungarians in Roamnia. There are already voices in their c omunity asking for more independence. If they try to pull something off like the albanians did in kosovo it's going to get ugly. We're at war one way or another for 800 years
Hello, i dont think i go to far by saying that, since that is fact.. the one who has gone too far is the one who started to bomb someone who doesnt want to follow UN directions about defense of his own country.. Sure there are always 2 sides to look at, and milosevic wasnt by far one of the good guys, but in this sceneario, i can understand why he did what he did, and in the end he did not deserve to get bombed for defeating his country.. so UN has seen him as a threat for something and couldnt resolve it in a polite way.. Update: Serbia will call back all of its Ambassadors from Countrys that have voted for Kosovo..
The US Military is 35% smaller than during the cold war. Kosovo is landlocked and not a good spot for US bases.
Albania is not claiming those territories , they were Albanian parts till before 1913 in London's Conference where European's greatest countries "hummered" every single part of Albanian territories. Cheers
Milosevic was not have the major role, and maybe to western mind is hard to explain that. LoCo is in the post above explained why.
My country, Serbia, was conquered in 1389. in well known battle on Kosovo from Ottoman Empire soldiers (Turk's), and in the next 500. years was under their occupation, but yet it was reach freedom after that 500. years. Thank you.
Are you saying the part in red from the Republic of Macedonia was albanian?? It may have been occupied for a few years, but it the territory was never albanian. There were about 90% macedonians living at that region until 1946 when albanians started to nest in and reproduce massively till this day, when they are more than 30% of the population there. Most of the albanians who live in Macedonia are in fine relations with macedonians. The incident in 2001 in Macedonia was caused by rebellion albanians from Kosovo who crossed illegally the borders (UN was guarding the border, how ironic). They even forced the albanians living in Macedonia to fight for their cause. I don't know whether Kosovo's independence is for good or not, but what the US and EU did was a contrary to all of the "human rights" cause philosophy they "fight for" and have broken every single international law with that. They have set an example there. Many other countries may be destabilized. If you still think that Milosevic did genocide(which it may be true) and albanians were the victims see these videos I found while browsing youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lMs8IfxSCt4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkgHkxIfgBc And finally, read here something about the US-EU UN "divide and conquer" strategy: http://emperors-clothes.com/articles/rozoff/shrill.htm
Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Montengegro break up from Serbia, what reason in this world could do you think Albanians should stay under Serbia?
Hello Im not trying to be rude, but you dont seem to have much knowledge about History, first of all Croatia, BIH, Macedonia and Albania have been Yugoslavia and not Serbia, every of them split apart during to wars and diffrences between each country.. but you miss the point albania is its own country already, and Kosovo is a part of Serbia its Serbian Terretory and now they want to split apart kosovo from serbia only because 70% of the inhabitants are albanien, in other words they live on Serbian terretory but want it to become indipendent..
Loco may i ask what is your perception of Montenegro and what is the difference between Montenegrin independence 2006 and this one? Is it the difference of religions? I'm just trying to understand what you think.
Yugoslavia was a federation of six federal counties including: Macedonia, Serbia, BiH, Croatia, Slovenia and MonteNegro. Albania never was in Yugoslavia. Kosovo was just a territory of Serbia, not a federal republic of Yugoslavia, therefore there is no logical or any way to claim its independence.. Independence from what??
LoCo , please do not criticize other's history knowledge if you are not sure what you are talking about! Albania has never been part of Yugoslavia and what you wrote is an extremely big mistake. Thanks for your time Olgi
Otto von Bismarck said "The whole of the Balkans is not worth the bones of a single Pomeranian grenadier."
Yes guys, sorry i was mistaken to say albania was part of Yugoslavia, but again thats not the point of this Thread.. and i just answered because was said, which has absolutley nothing to do with albanians staying under serbia sry for any missinformation i have given, i should have atleast researched to not make the mistake. Regards
In the next 15 years, both Serbia and Kosovo would become a part of Greater EU, and borders would become meaningless.
How do you mean "was" Montenegro was part of Serbia as Serbia & Montenegro till Montenegro declared independence in 2006, no? Do you mean historic times? I guess the difference lies beneath their federation county status in Yugoslavia, which Kosovo had no such.
