Sorry for the re-post-- I accidentally put the word "content" instead of "contest" in the title and I was afraid graphics people wouldn't click on the thread. There are content contests out there-- this is not one of them. --- I've just begun work a few days ago on a new wordsearch puzzle website. I need a header for the new site. This forum is always full of fresh, creative graphic talent... and I always get excited about posting new contests. My site: Word Seaches Prize: $30 paid via paypal. What I need: 760 x 120ish cartoon-like header Needs to appeal to my primary audience: Older women "Cute" is OK, but not too child-ish Header should be memorable and make people want to come back Must have a professional, polished look Name of the site should stand out "Super Word Search Puzzles" Colors: While I like the green color scheme that's on the site now, but I am open to other suggestions. Some other headers that have won my contests (so you get a feel for the kinds of things I like): Here (I love how this one blends into the background... it's not "boxy") Here (This one has amazing detail and a nice polished look...very brand-able) Here (This one in memorable and makes people smile) Important: The work must be your own, original creation. I don't want clip art from collections or galleries. I need something that is unique to the site. Posting: Post all entries in the forum, for everyone to see. Contest ends: On or about Monday at 9:00pm eastern time. I reserve the right to extend or cancel the contest if I don't see headers I like.
I can give it a go...sorry I didnt see this. Sometimes there are so many contests that some get buried.
Woo-hoo! Thanks ScarletWolfe! Anyone else want to take on ScarletWolfe in the battle for the best Word Search Header graphic?
Hard to come up with something for wordsearches...anyways heres my attempt. Sample of it in place... Feedback appreciated.
Wow... not a bad way to start off the contest. And thank you for the page preview-- I'm not sure I would have been able t picture it correctly in my mind if you hadn't done it. Pros: I especially like the way it blends into the background. The mascot guy has a web 2.0 look to him, which I like. The way you made his body with different shades of green is really cool. Cons: I'm not really loving the font. Maybe it's the black border around the letters. Maybe the font itself. Overall: Definietly worthy of serious consideration. Thank you!
I can play around with the fonts later on tonight try a few other ones...this one kinda reminded me of wordsearches...I chose the black to make it stand out more..I have to work soon so I cant revise it now...but if the font is the only thing you find lacking its definetely something I can work on
I'll extend the contest through tomorrow night.... if anyone else wants to enter, jump right in. - fb
Revision of font removed stroke... Just got home from work will try and find a few more fonts...and posts them up .
Scarlet Wolfe -- Thanks for reworking the header. I actuallly like the second one (with the word super in red) better. I think the extra color makes the whole header stand out more. Still, the fonts aren't jiving as well as I had hoped...the letters still look a little too much like standard typing. As I said before, I love the shades of green on the guy... the little guy is what really makes this header cool. Muchas gracias! - Tim
CnSGD-- Thanks for the entry! Very Impressive! Here's what it would look like on the page. I love the font you used for the words "Super Word Search Puzzles". It has a nice Web 2.0 glow to it. It's strong and bold and people will notice it. I also like the little puzzle on the side too. I see you even hid a few words in there. I also like the subtle detail of writing in the backdrop. The header is excellent-- definitely has possibility for winning. Two small suggestions, though: - Can you change the word puzzle to puzzles (so it matches the domain name)? - Would it be easy to change the coloring on the pencil? It looks a little flat /2-dimensional and the tip doesn't look too pencil-like. Thanks for the entry. I'm impressed with what I see. - FB P.S. Anyone else want in? Contest ends tonight (Tuesday) around 9pm eastern.
So glad you like. Here is the revisions you asked about. I changed the pencil into a 3d image instead to give it more dimension.
