    Hey,

Here is the idea, see if it can be done.

I need it so a still picture will be taken from a LIVE stream, (someone doing a live stream ,ya know)

One the picture is taken, it is automatically put on a website, and the image can be updated like with word caption boxes or ANYONE can edit it... ya know?

If anyone catches my drift or can do it, let me know please, thank you!

It's quite easy to do from a video, but I don't know about a stream. Perhaps you should first look at capturing a small video clip, then grabbing the still?

A live stream, Go to ustream.tv and you will see what it looks like.

And its NOT anything pornographic or anything.

this is done a lot with regular videos. I'd image you'd need someone familiar with a video player that can easily add in a function to grab a random frame. Though the problem with streaming video is that there is never a reliable image, so there's no guarantee you can get a solid picture.

Though it would all depend your context. If you are running a script local to the video i'm sure the script could just dig through the video and get what it needs but, if it is a remote stream theres no guarantees.

    Hey 00johnny,

Thank you very much for posting!

With this, I was hoping to grab a shot every so often, like intervals... but most of the time the streaming is reliable for the photo, if not , that's ok, this isn't for business, just to play around a little.

Yeah, it is a remote stream... I have no idea really how to go about to to capture a shot, and put in on a site :(
