Hey! Those are 2 questions I have about indexing images by Google: 1. How long it takes for images to be indexed? I read some article saying the delay is the same as with any web page but want to be sure .. 2. How to check that your site images are indexed? If I want to check for a precise image or in general .. Thanks for your time
I think it depends on the overall indexing frequency of the site. We enabled image searching initially on our promo items but ended up disabling it as it seemed to interfere with other bots. Usually though I'd expect the indexing to being taking place almost immediately.
Just do this search. In my experiance it takes about 3 months for images to be included in google image search.
This chimes with my experience too - I've never seen a statement anywhere from google of how often they update images (if anyone has one I'd love to see it), but I know from occasions when I've completely redesigned a site, and renamed and replaced old images, 3 months seemed to be about the period of time it took for the new ones to be cached
That only works if you're images are also uploaded on your own webspace. If you host your images on, say: Imageshack, you won't see them if you use that search.
Googling earlier I found these 2 articles: http://www.searchengineoptimization...plains-google-images-how-search-engines-work/ http://webtalks.blogspot.com/2007/04/google-image-indexing.html In the second you can read these tips: Is it really important to have the width / height declarations?
