For example: Click on an adsense ad on youtube and you will see that the ad will open in a new window!! Is that Fair? No What about google penalising you for using yahoo ads instead of adsense? Is that fair? No What about google banning you for selling links on your site when clearly adwords is google's way to sell links on other people's website Is that fair? Well, I guess we'll just have to put up of shut up, after all It is business!
Umm, certain publishers can do this as well, because they have a high pageveiw\daily traffic amount. Usually around 20,000,000+ pageviews a day. I don't see why it matters how Google conducts their buisness so much to you, you could always use another ad network, which will probably have the same sort of rules.
I don't use any ad network on my sites... My income doesn't depend on google or any other SE either but it I believe Google shoud be fairer with the average webmaster. Not just the elite.
Lets hope you never run a multi-billion dollar company if that is your belief, why should Google cater to webmasters who provide %0.0001 of the revenue a premium publisher does? Rather silly idea if you ask me, this is common in the buisness world, welcome to it.
First of all, are you throwing percentage out of the blue or you can back up your statement by facts? If you can please do, if you cannot then please refrain from misinforming people. And finally, even if you were right about the percentage (0,0001%), you will never run a billion dollar company if you think that 0, 0001% of $145 billion$ is negligeable.
The percentage wasn't ment to be accurate, it was to prove a point from a buisness perspective, plain and simple. Also, maybe you shouldn't use data from 2006 when you try to cite a source when it's already mid 1st quarter in 2008. Don't rush to pull the first result you see in Google search.
If your percentage wasn't accurate then your argument is even more irrelevant. As for the data, it is true, it is old data but since Google's shares have soared since 2006, it makes your 0.0001% even bigger... So much for the average webmaster being a minor part in google's success.
You miss the whole picture, You Tube gets more page impressions in one hour than your site(s) most likely do in a whole year. Thats why they are a premium publisher just like they were BEFORE Google bought them, when the ads STILL opened a new window. Your complaining is that of a ten yearold who didn't get picked in the first 5 of a basketball team. Instead of complaining how you don't get treated the same as a company making Google probably 10,000x more revenue than you go build a site that can compete or continue to pout like a child.
You need to read the whole post before commenting. I believe I raised other issues and mention something about it being "business" after all but maybe you've got the attention span of a fly and can't remember past the 4 first lines...
Or your post can't hold anyones attention. If attacks and insults are your only way to get your point across I respect that, but remember your e-ego doesn't get you that far in life or look that sweet on you resume. *** to +rep: thanks, i though it was very funny too ***
I believe you were the first one throwing attacks. I will leave to it you verify that claim. I was looking for another one of your funny jokes but it looks like it is the end of our little "discussion". BTW: I though that I was funny too...
I don't see how it would hurt google's profit if all adsense ads opened in a new window. Maybe someone could give me a good example? I don't think it is fair for google to penalise your site if you use yahoo ads instead of adsense. (I have read about it on a well known marketer's website but can't remember which one) I can see why google doesn't like webmaster selling links on their own website. Probably because it fools their PR system but I think it is an easy way out for google. They should probably rethink or improve it. Overall I don't think google is being fair but then it is their business after all so they protect it the way they want. It is business after all.
