Hi to all, i submitted my site www.dfsfactoring.com 6 months ago and I am still not listed. Any ideas ?? Thank You for your help !
Good luck. There are stories of taking much longer and never getting listed. Best suggestion I can give is to quit worrying about it and keep building back links elsewhere. They do not have the clout or respect they use to have. If you get listed, it is fine but not worth obsessing over.
and I also submitted my web 6 month ago. And just list about a week ago. But the rank of my web had no change any better,if no bad. I want to know how soon will the effection come.
Sure. The most likely explanation is that is hasn't actually been reviewed yet by one of the volunteer editors. The other one is that it got reviewed and got rejected. If I were a betting man, I'd suggest that it was the first of the two. Which category did you suggest the site to? And @ecctao - where did you get the information that a listing in DMOZ will help the rank of your site in any significant or immediate way? Everything I have read here by experts on the subject say that it will have little or no effect, since it is just one more backlink for Google.
6 months is not the longest here, some guys submitted for 1 year still not listed. If you really want to be listed then wait for another 6 months or apply to be an editor.
I've read of some sites submitted 2 to 3 years ago, and still not listed. With the amount of new site submissions everyday, I wonder how these volunteer editors can take care of the backlogs. I might be wrong, but if this trend continues, there is a great possibility that many good sites will never be listed in ODP.
youve got to love these comments from peons..... lets just totally disregard that dmoz is the oldest, best PR directory on the web, and filters its listings out to dozens, perhaps hundreds of other domains like alexa etc. etc.
May be, but submitting a new site to dmoz, waiting for the listing and worrying abt it for months - these are all just waste of precious time. Just try to make our site popular in other ways. Forget about dmoz. If our site is that popular they will add us. Or else who cares.
You only got it mostly right... Submit then Forget about dmoz. If our site is that popular they will add us. Or else who cares. It takes not more or less time to submit to the ODP, then any other directory. If you are submitting to free ones, then you run the risk of broken submissions, dying/vanishing directories/other issues. Though, still many people think that submitting to them is well worth the time. If it is worth it there, it's certainly worth it here.
Very well put - really the amount of ODP bashing that goes on is ridiculous, I cant think of any other directory on the internet that attracts this level of animosity or discussion, and lets face it there are plenty of other "big" directories. I guess it will have very little effect, but cmon people, lets stop the DMOZ bashing!!
It seems to depend who is the editor or if they got an editior at all for that particular category. Best thing to try and do is become an editor yourself I guess.
@daswon @365couponcode I wonder if any of you Clowns realize that you are posting in 3 years old thread? fastreplies
