What to do with a few older domains?

I have several older domains (7-8 years old) that have just been sitting there, with a PR4 and a 301 redirect to a hosting company domain name that I own. How can I make the best use of them? Would there be some better way to develop them and not have them redirecting, that would drive more traffic to the hosting site?

If they're decent names they might be worth quite a bit of money on the market.

Test their authority. If they have some, target good terms. Make some cash. :D

Thanks. How do I "test their authority"?

Fire up a test page targeting a good term and seeing if it hits the top rankings. ;)
