Market for a trademarked domain name

Few months back I purchased a cctld domain name that is the registered trademark of a multibillion US Corporation . The domain name is exact same as their trademark and they own all major tld's and few cctld's .Few days ago I heard in news that they started investing in the country where I own their registered trademark .

I'd like to see what the market is for this domain name, the trademarked one, and it is a name that would be of great interest to many other companies besides the large corp that owns the trademark.

I'd like some advice about what would be the best steps to proceed?

    1. Should I contact the Corp that owns the trademark?
    2. Should I hire a broker to contact the corp?
    3. Should I put the domain up for sale without contacting the corp that owns the trademark?

Or, should I proceed some other way?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I think legally they can take your domain through wipo
If you offer them this domain they can claim you have registered this domain with bad-faiths.

    take a look at:
    http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/

Thank you for responding .As far as i know it would cost them 1000$ for registering a claim with WIPO . If they could offer me half that money I'll happily give em the domain .

As soon as you try to sell it to them for more than the registration fee it shows bad faith in a dispute. If you think saving a few hundred dollars is worth more to a multi-billion dollar corporation than making an example of sombody that tries to extort them, you will probably find that you are quite mistaken.

I was recently approached by the rights holders of a trademark for one of my domains, they paid me more for it than what i paid as a settlement. Square Enix.

The difference is you were approached. Businesses tend to take a different tact when you approach them to sell.

yeah do NOT try and sell it, just hold it, never put up on the site or anything that you are selling the domain. Just wait and see who contacts you or sends you a letter lol Good luck

    EASY!!
    Trademarks are narrow
Look for a niche that isn't trademarked in your country and exploit it.
    Not ethical
    Bad karma
But you are walking the path already.

    Whats the domain name?

So what were you thinking of when you registered the domain name in the first place?

Dreams of offers of hundreds of thousands of dollars? Riches? Women? Luxury Cars? What? Tell Us Man!

Here is my situation. A couple of years ago, one of my business associates went and registered craigedmonds.com after a deal we had went sour.

He went and registered it after I forgt to renew it. (yes at the time i was with a dumb registrar who did not have autorenew settings). His reasoning was that if I did any defamatory about him on the internet, he would be in a position to do the same.

My mission in life in regards to this fellow as sad as it may sound is to 1. get that domain name back without letting him reap any financial rewards whatsoever and 2. Keep an ongoing file about all his activities, business and personal in order to catch him slipping up in order to report him to the police or tax office or his wife.

One day my friends he WILL slip up and I will be there to laugh my arse off at his misery, the same misery he caused me throughout our association.

(Yes, I a bitter little man but I have good reason to be)

Anyway my point is, I am just a little guy, I cant imagine what a multi million/billion dollar company will do to you.

Is it worth you mucking about with someone elses business?

    Think about it.
