i would personally use seperate domain names, for the sake of $8 for a domain name. Imagine if you have 100 Bans stores on sub domains all on the same TLD and for some reason Google decides to de-index one store!! you will lose ALL of the 100 stores
My philosophy is that TLDs are so cheap, why not go for a separate domain? I have some difficulty understanding why anyone would prefer to use a subdomain, but to each his own.
The only downfall I can see to using a new domain name is that won't it be difficult to get a good SERP because of the "newness" of the recently purchased domain?
I have to go with the idea of new domains for each site, also. If you get big enough and are earning a fair amount, you could also consider seperate hosting accounts. At 25 a month(less if you pay quarterly or yearly) for a decent reseller acount you could have to 2, 3 or more and have your related niches on different servers. Linking to each other with diff. IP's and giving your sites more seperation. I would also say that you are most likely buiding value into the domains you own. Lets say after 5 years that domain has cost you 35 to 50 dollars to own. You could probably get at least that much for your name, if not more. Just my 2 cents. As far as the newness goes, buy older domains. I bought one for 50 or so last year. It was aged 6 or 7 years, loosely related to a certain niche. I put up a basic bans site, edited colors and that was it. No content what so ever was added. I made enough in 2 months to pay for the domain, hosting and BANS script. Traffic did wind down from 200 or so a day to around 50 but it is still making money and just needs a little TLC.
I am not apart of the Original "Bans" but am apart of a new one that alows you to plug in Amazon, Ebay and any CJ programs you are apart of and will allow the customers to search for what they want and will list it with prices when they do.. They are in my sig if you want to check them out and see what it is all about..
Got the site indexed in google. Now using a subdomain here servers two purposes, I would not have to spend some extra bucks on something that I am testing. If it works by all means would buy a new domain. Also because the domain is old, I dont see it getting sandboxed as most of the new domains do. I am now going to market the site to the people who are looking for the GPS Devices. Regards Ajeet
auburnfan23 if your just getting into this industry you are pretty much wasting your time with them niches?? come on now Nike Golf Clubs? probably the second most competitive golf niche behind Callaway. The chance of you seeing any decent serps for that niche is pretty low. Same with Cheap Cell Phones.
I've just made from scratch my first ebay affiliate site: http://fenderauctions.net/ I've still got to add some text to it, any thoughts?
How did you cloak or mask your links for the ebay listings?? I dont want to wait for BANS 3 to get this option, i want it before then. thx.
You've already contradicted yourself. It says right there to add value in the form of unique and relevant content. So don't just throw up 100 BANS sites, use it as a tool, to market a niche with unique and relevant content All my BANS sites do this and all are making sales. I have 3 up since novembner and am earning $50-100 a month and increasing each month. Treat them with TLC and they will pay you back.
Greatness, i just pointed to a php script, then used the script to send a redirect header. I've just done it with images as well.
That's a pretty neat function you worked out there. Will you be able to post technique or will you keep it close to the vest?.lol
I'm using http://php.net/header (location) with the link/image data pulled from my database eg header('Location: http://www.ebay..com/someauction/');
I threw this Airsoft Sniper Rifle site together in about 6 hours. Not sure if it will sell anything yet, but we'll see. Throw a ton of stuff at the wall and something's bound to stick. Let me know that you think!
