Sick of this penny per click BS

Has Google has been f-ing over publishers in February?

My site is new since December 07, but in December and January, I was earning well over 10 cents per click. Some clicks were as high as 50-80 cents. I was a happy camper.

In February, I am consistently earning 1 cent/click. The site has not changed - same content, layout, etc. It is not even worth my time and effort to have adsense on my site.

Methinks Google is deliberately f-ing over their publishers. Anyone else experiencing a similar situation with regards to monetary stinginess in Feb?

Who said Adsense will bring everyone a fortune, if it doesn't work just go for another network.

Sometime I also get 1-5 cent and some time as much 75 - 1.45 c for per click. I want to know is their a way to filter low paying ads.

If you were having 10~20K uniques a day you won't fill the difference...

Google prefers to call this "SmartPricing".. If your clicks don't convert well for the advertisers, the value of the clicks from your site will drop, resulting in a lower ePC for you. SOME ways you might be able to improve this is to make sure when a visitor clicks one of the ads on your site, they are clicking because they are genuinely interested in the product - not because they were 'tricked' into clicking. So things like disguising ads as navigation links, or (god forbid) asking them to click, etc can result in being smart-priced.

It might also be that you're just in a low-paying niche. Not a lot you can do about that short of adding more content on different subjects, or making a whole new site.

Are you pushing bad traffic? If so google probably knocked your prices down.

It's been a good year for me, yet I keep seeing all these "a bad 2008" threads... so going under the premise that only the bad news gets published... I am going with the idea that you've been smart priced or the pages your low paying ads are being shown on are currently "what's hot" on google (etc) referrers.

Suck it up, stick it out and best of luck :)

It is always the same game. One day is high, one day is down. Somehow we have to live with that and be happy with some cash every month.
