It's good to do the math, but also remember what sort of stuff you are selling. And what the visitor quantity AND quality is going to be. here's one recent review Quote from that post: It really depends what you are selling. For "Vista"... I doubt John Chow review does good (after all - his audience is "money maker people"). If on the other hand somebody is selling $500 money making product (that's really good), then you might be hitting it right (Although... in that case you might want to consider doing JV/affiliate system with John rather than to purchase a review). Depends what you are offering and what your goals are.
"I've had a JC review, I know the result we got hence I know the value .... to me." Now how did I know you were going to say somethng like that?
I think that JC reviews are more geared to newbies trying to get the validation that they are on the "right" track. Personally I rather give a bum 450 then to JC, I just don't see the relavance of what's so great about his "validating credentials"
Honestly, I would probably spend that money to get on three different sites... someone had mentioned Tylercruz.com and there's a few sites equivalent to his... plus, I'm sure you can pay for three reviewers for cheaper than JC's total...
Well what I was thinking is that if it sucks, then I need to know what sucks about it so I can improve on it. I don't mind if people find out that it sucks on John Chow, because I will follow his advice and fix it up and prove them wrong ^_^
At the end of the day like any marketing you need to look at your target audience, your product etc... if your product is targeted well towards JCs audience then why not give it a go. He has a pretty good readership and that one review will spawn a lot of other reviews on other similar blogs...
No I am merely stating my opinion and what my result was with a JC review. That's what the poster was asking and that what the discussion has been about.
Hehe, I actually posted a post on my blog about the same situation I'm in. Should I buy a review at Chow or a couple more on smaller sized blogs. Really good to see your thoughts on this issue. Keep them coming!
