WordPress Duplicate Content?

    Hey,

Using WordPress. Most of my articles are assigned to two categories. If you view the "categories", it just shows a summary of each article.

But am I correct that the entire article is under each category? So that means there are two copies of the same article on the site?

If so, is there a duplicate content concern here?

I'm trying to learn more about seo on WordPress. Any other WordPress seo advice you could give me? I have seo all in one plugin installed. I have limited 3 articles per page, with only summaries showing in these. I also have the permalinks fixed to show the title in the url. Am I missing anything maybe?

Thanks for your patience and help.

    :)

With wordpress your posts should only be listed in one category, it's also smart to use your robots.txt to block duplicate content pages. The SEO All-In-One plugin is another great plugin to use with wordpress.

As long as it shows as summary it is not considered as duplicate content. Anyhow if you want to keep it clean you can use the Optional excerpt space to write a optional summary when visitors surf the categories. Here is a post I wrote on eliminating duplicate content in wordpress blogs

p.s. ssandecki is always faster , damn :p (just kidding)

Thanks. Will check that link out now. Hey, is writing an optional excerpt really important for seo? I'm sooo lazy. :O)

SSandecki---- Thanks man. I need to go back and fix that.

Nah not really important, after all in excerpt are used the first 100-200 characters (not quiet sure), so unless your whole post is 100-200 char long it is not that important
