Well my friends and teachers figured it out that i m doing domaining and that i hold around a 1000+ domains and some websites... I am 17+ and have started this business at 16+ age... I would just like to confirm that this is totally legal as i believe I told them but they still think that its illegal. what should i reply back please help.... thanks
Hi, I think that there is nothing wrong is possession of domains, it does not matter how many you have. Of course as long as you are not doing business are this should be made by a registered company, and you are not offering some illegal services. Good Luck! A.
Kick them in the nuts. No seriously, teachers and parents are naysayers, they try to put you down all the time but you've got to get over that. I did and now I'm a really happy webmaster, making a lot more money than I would've if I hadn't dropped out of college. Stand on your own two feet, bruh; it helps.
There's absolutely nothing illegal about running a business. In fact the global economy depends on people like you. Tell your teachers to use their time to think up business ideas of their own instead of criticising you...who knows, it might get them out of their dead-end jobs working with kids and into the real world. Don't let other people put you down. You have done well to get where you are already, so don't let those who think they know better spoil thing for you.
It's legal. Just do not use your domain to hurt other big companies. For example,if you start a search eagine which called google001.com.Then it will be illegal.
its totally legal, I have got about 20% more than that, and owning adult domains is also totally legal.... so ignore the post I quoted above..
No, buying and selling domains is not illegal. At it's heart it's not dissimilar to working in real estate and you should give that example to the folks who are trying to look out for you. Remember that they do have what's best for you in mind and they don't understand it enough to really make the right judgment call. However, there are a lot of black-hat tricks that can be employed in the course of domaining that will be against certain company policies or that might just simply be immoral. These could include domain hijacking, cybersquatting, domain sniping, domain tasting and domain front running. In the policies and opinions of most people, I'd say that these might not be great ideas. Do your best to find ways to do it right without stealing or making other people look bad. I don't really know enough about the options or methods but a certain point you are simply reselling. This is kind of off the subject, but - Please don't be so quick to criticize teachers --unless you are a teacher or you have kids. I'm sure every teacher is aware of the fact that it's thankless and not the best wage earner. I'm sure they do it for much more noble causes than you might guess. This kid's teachers and parents are just looking out for him and making an incorrect assumption that what he is doing is illegal.
It's definitely not illegal. Like so many other things (stocks, bonds, gold, oil, wheat, grain, coffee, etc) domains are bought and sold everyday for a profit, and sometimes for a loss. It has gotten a bad name because in the beginning, people bought names of Hollywood or sports stars and when that star got around to trying to buy his own name it was gone. The owner then wanted big, big bucks for it. This was seen by many as a form of extortion. Just know that buying different forms of a copyrighted name can be a losing proposition. ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) can take the domain from you if it decides that it rightfully belongs to someone else. And, when playing with possible copyright infringement domains, lawyers can get involved and cost you lots of cash. So, just keep it clean and honest and you'll have a nice little business going in spite of what some others think. In fact, I think you should get a little credit for having your own business at 16. When I was 16, I was a dumbass. /*tom*/
