Are you opposed to going to hell for eternity?

I heard once that some people believe they would be happier in hell, because they don't think they would enjoy their idea of Heaven.

I would like to chat/debate/fight about this.

Anywhere would be better than heaven... Imagine eternity spent with wishy washy christians. Luckily neither heaven or hell exist.

So, if you did believe it existed though, you would rather spend eternity in torment then spend it with christians who have become perfect and not wishy washy anymore? Wouldn't it be a trip to see us (Christians) actually doing what we are supposed to be doing finally?

 

I don't much like the idea of doing anything for eternity. But if i had to spend eternity anywhere id want to spend it a long way away from christians.

 

For me hell is living in a place where everyone believes in stuff for no logical reason.

I promise you though, we'll stop being such hypocritical jerks once we are in Heaven. Here on earth it's just hard living up to the standard everyone assumes we judge everyone by. Athiests aren't really expected to be perfect, right?

Also, I guess you are stuck with the idea that heaven is just a carbon copy of earth with the same faulty bodies and minds.

 

So for you, hell is here on earth with athiests, muslims, etc?

It can be. I think the real key is making this life heaven (or hell if that's how you like it.) I don't understand people's fascination with some dream of a post-life life. We're living right now. Make this your heaven. As the great philosopher Belinda Carlisle says "Heaven Is A Place On Earth." I think the most dangerous people are those who think that this isn't it. The suicide bombers are always people who think they are going to heaven, aren't they.

 

Compared to the number of athiest murderers throughout history who've gotten the death penalty, killed by the cops, or killed themselves, no, i'd say they aren't.

 

There's no hell as some people believe, hell is earth.

I was showing how they are basically suicide bombers too... forgot to mention kamikaze pilots though.
