You heard it. David came and posted the news on my forum vbulletin and phpBB 3. Read it all here - http://www.talkdirectories.com/modifications/741-connect-phpld-vbulletin-phpbb.html#post3603 Nice to see the script is still being advanced.
Who knows. I think they are likely to work on SMF and IPB as they are more dominant in the forum market rather than MyBB. I also asked about Wordpress.
I will probably suggest over there, the thing worth taking into account is you may have a directory where you want to intergrate a forum but not wanting to spend on vbulletin, i know phpbb is free and popular but will be nice if they can sort it for other choices too. Im not keen on SMF boards, theres just something about them that doesn't look nice too me.
I agree. phpBB is nice but I odnt like the spam. I used vbulletin on my last forum and thats one of the reasons I bought talkdirectories as it uses it. I probably wouldnt have posted so much at DP if they didnt use vB. Thats why I joined forums like iguides as they use it. I dont usually sign up to forums that don't use it. I guess the phpLD boys will need to evaluate if its worth their time to work on forums like MyBB. Will more people buy phpLD if it can be used with mybb? I doubt its many.
SMF is nice with lots of free templates and mods. I have one and am very happy with it, you can check it out at www.wjnj.com/forum, I did have a bit of custom work done on a free template. Am I right in thinking that phpbb is around $100 a year?
That is the price if you want to pay yearly, but you don't own the license. If you want to pay once $160, then you'll own the license forever, for one site. You may change the site afterwards, but you may not install the vBulletin script on more than one site at a time. Regarding the integration : I believe it's better to have a list with the last 5 posts from WordPress / phpBB / vBulletin than to have nothing. This list is pretty easy to build if you have the phpLD and the forum/blog hosted on the same account, so you can access the databases in the same way.
