I've posted this many times before, and sadly i'm sure i'll post it many times in the future: YPn has no clue on how to do anything.. it APPEARS that they are a bunch of incompetent retards with no direction and no common sense.. The funny thing is, all the times of posted these harsh words, NOBODY has ever disagreed... YPn is in serious trouble...
I dont talk about ypn much since being terminated for low quality traffic. The same old thing. I had crappy ads on my sites. Ads that were not even remotely close to what my visitors would be interested in. I targeted for something closer and still had crappy ads but not as crappy. Long story short I lost ad targeting first and then my account and was told to reapply when it comes out of beta. I sent their advertisers LOADS of traffic. I never have any problems with adsense. Adwords advertisers have loved my traffic for years.
I don't understand why anyone is still with YPN. I've been with them since the beginning (late 2005) and did fine for a while, even though they have never in 2 years been able to produce relevant ads -- and they are STILL in beta. Then relevancy worsened and revenue began falling, and I began switching pages back to Google. A few pages continued to do well even with non-relevant ads. Then they too began producing less revenue. Now, all pages are back to Google and I don't see ever going back to YPN. The only reason I see for anyone to be interested in YPN is because they've been banned by Google. Unfortunately, it's a poor second choice.
Yea, I have debated with myself to go back to Google for a while now... I just keep hoping Yahoo will get their act together...
I'm pretty sure there's some sort of arrangement between google and yahoo, something not official.. I don't see any other reason for yahoo being so lame in this promising area (not relevant, not international) no other reason than already receiving millions from google. Or maybe an agreement by google not to do GOOGLE GAMES and GOOGLE GREETINGS CARDS, so yahoo can stay in this. I really don't know, but what explanation can you give?
interesting to read all this! I am still a YPN publisher.. If msn or ask comes out I will be trying them out!
Unfortunately, unless you high up in either company... I doubt it is information many people will get their hands on...
I guess - YPN is going to go down as one of the biggest blunders the net has experienced in recent times
I've never been in YPN, but I have been reading comments about it since it first started. It's really amazing how there's been a total 360 done in regards to how much people like it. When it first came out, everyone was scrambling to get an invite because it paid so much better than AdSense. Two years later now, and everyone's going back to AdSense.
Never used ypn either and the more i read about it the less likely i am to try it. Never heard a good thing about it :O
I would say never put all your eggs in your basket, try to diversify between YPN and Google, safer to keep both of them, you never know when a competitor is going to keep clicking your Google adsense and have you banned.
I see a lot of YPN publishers using images with ads... Looks like they dont care if they get warned/banned as they were probably going back to adsnese.. but it seems Yahoo isnot enforcing it to keep users...?
Mark my words. YPN will be closed down inside of 12 months... and I am being generous here. My gut tells me 6 months.
I think the YPN engineers are sleeping... .seriously.. They have like 5 ads total that rotating each other... and it's not even relate to my content. Yahoo needs to wake up and accept microsoft's offer... otherwise the company will be worth 5 billion in a year...
Hm, YPN looks like a mess, they seem to be showing crappy quality ads on everywhere I've seen them, I think I agree that they will be gone within the year :|
