hello all, i am new to SEO, i understrand what to do, but i don't know how exactly to go about it.. or how to TARGET one keyword or a few keywords.. i don't know how many to have.. i use oscommerce for my website (http://www.gadget-net.com)... i would just like some constructive info on how to go about getting to the top of a niche keyword... my niche is consumer electronics... i hope someone can give me a push in the right direction
I'm more than happy to help, but when scanning your site I don't see what keywords you are trying to target. What would be you're top number keyword that you would want to rank for, once we know that, we can go from there.
im doing this, i've signed up to forums and put my url as my sig... im also commentinmg dofollow blogs... but i don't know weather to use one niche keyword.. or loads of obvious relevent keywords... i dont' know if my website is ranked under a certain keyword.. i don't know how to mesure how well im doing in kwywords :S edit: hey thanks ejudicator.. that would be wonderful! im not sure which keywords to target either, the main search term used in my search is 'usb fridge' and 'solar charger'... but my main items i sell are mp3/4 players and digital cameras... the keywords at the bottom of my website are all niche and unsed keywords which i could use... but your help would be much apprieciated
What is the keyword you are choosing, and have you been using it as anchor text? Type it here and I will tell you your ranking in about 2 minutes. (Feel free to use stars in between letters, if you are worried about outranking yourself...or PM me)
try to use KW search tools such as Wordtracker, Google Suggest. look for related KWs for your site then choose the KWs that are being searched most of the time. Upon selecting the right KWs, use them in your own site (search for on-page optimization) and do link-building afterwards
Backlinks is the answer.Build as many as you can,but make them to look naturally.Using only the signature in forums will not help you.You will need some relevant links and to build them you will need time or some $$$ Good Luck!
