    Hi,
As we might already know in July Microsoft is going to stop most sales of windows xp in retail shops!
Most people are against this and therefore want to get Microsoft to save XP and not kill it off slowly just yet.

I mean Vista isnt the best thing that Microsoft has done I think it was all just a flop!

Anyway the best thing that we can do at the moment is by signing a petition. In a small period of time this petition will be submitted to microsoft and here's hoping we can keep windows XP for longer.

over 90,000 have already signed this petition and Microsoft is starting to take note. So please help save Windows XP and sign the petition for free at

    http://www.savexp.com

    Thanks
    Ben

Vista was rushed, and it's not really ready for production use, despite being out for over a year :\
    Microsoft got it wrong :p

Microsoft is a company that will always do what they want to do. Lets take the MSN Gaming Zone for example. It was huge, I was on that site since the beginning. It was formerly called The Village when the site platform was first tinkered with this was long ago. The MSN Gaming Zone was a huge gaming site, I haven't seen any as big as it was yet. You know they were making a killing, however, they decided to toss it away. Most of the regular people that played there went to other sites such as The World Gaming Center. Microsoft will do what they please, when they turn away a good site making good money, you know they don't care what happens with XP. They rule their own little world that they live in. I don't think they care about the opinion of people, they know what they own and they will use that to their advantage.

what a pointless thread, when xp first came out people hated it and didn't want to upgrade, and the now the same with vista and will be the same with Microsoft's next operating system. I have both xp and vista and yes vista isn't yet perfect but its a heck of allot better then xp

I agree with shield to a degree.

2 of my 11 machines have Vista and while it seems like Vista's not all that it was cracked up to be, I know that it's the future and there's no use in fighting the incoming tide.

I just wish they would get to SP3 (or at least 2) before they shut off XP. I think Vista is a classic case of a software project that was too big to tackle all at once and everyone (including MS) is suffering because of it.

I do also credit Vista with the fact that more of my machines are running less and less Microsoft software these days as I'm trying to pay less and less to the now seeming "old fashioned" Microsoft.

WRT them buying Yahoo. It's simple, Microsoft's business was built around selling software in shrink wrap boxes and tying you into their way of doing things.

Along comes google and others who built their business around a different core and then started *heaven forbid* giving away software that competes with MS. Other companies built their core around monthly service fees, but you get the picture.

The business shifted and now Microsoft has to get back into the game, thus the Yahoo bid. XP, their legacy software installations and now Vista are like boat anchors (well paying boat anchors in fact, but still boat anchors) slowing Microsoft down from competing in new way of doing things.

Seems like Microsoft should be thinking out of the box and even crazy thoughts akin to giving away XP or Vista(?), Office(?) for free some how. Again, this seems to be where Yahoo comes in.

I think it's time for them to modernize their thinking whatever they do.
