Check it out! http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-...shoemoney-super-affiliate-mindest-camels.html good read
While I'm not exactly agreeing with all that Jon says... it was pretty fun read Won't stop reading the stuff John, Shoe & and others have to say though - there's lessons to be learned
LOL, that's a funny article - those pictures are 'so gay'... ha ha I agree what he says about Shoemoney - his articles and blogs are very lacking in content. I subscribed to his updates a couple of months ago and now barely read them at all. He's obviously either not willing to share anything that's truely valuable or he's got nothing to say. Most of his updates are about what other people are up to and what's happening in the latest UFC fights!
I agree that John and Shoe sometimes have a lot of bs on their site, but a lot of the stuff is informative, too. The reason I read them isn't really to learn, though, it's too be entertained. They have a lot of personality in their posts and they did a good job marketing them. Oh, and John Chow really sucks at marketing because he makes $30,000 a month off his blog.
Uber Affiliate posted that Shoemoney is considering legal action: http://uberaffiliate.com/gossiprants/blog-income-report/ I'd like to see Shoemoney write a response on his blog.
Interesting and funny post. I agree with Jon about most of the people/blogs he targeted... But John Chow is a great guy. I've known him since before he opened his blog, and I can tell you he's a real marketing genius. I've learned a lot from him and he did have an online presence even before JohnChow.com took off. He's also great with technology (that's how I originally met him), and he knows what he wants in his life. He's definitely not a faker, and he does offer good advice for those who care to listen to him. Success brings jealousy.
Heh I personally think that even though John & Shoe have quite possibly made some mistakes and "tested the gray areas" and whatnot... the point is that you don't get to display checks of $100,000+ if you are totally clueless. Also, I also respect the fact that Shoe has like "pretty regular guy" type of role (with loads of internet knowledge). He's pretty much the first affiliate/adsense/internet-guru/marketing-dude/whatnot who is writing stuff in easy-going manner, and telling what stuff he has experimented (like "$10,000 campaign") and what sort of linkbaits ("Bush, Greatest President Ever" blog post) he has done in a shoe-like manner. Sure... he has his own benefit to look into (must be ranging from reviews to affiliate systems to ads to who knows what) but that's part of the game. Nevertheless, funny rant
I got a rant about that horrid-looking, hard-to-read post with the black background combined with the white text. RANT! RANT! RANT! RANT! Ok, I'm done.
Its actually supposed to be better for your eyes to read something on a dark background with light coloured font.
