Md's GOP party is a distinct minority. They had their first Republican governor who lost on reelection after 1 term. He was the first Repub since the 1960's. McCain won bigger in MD than in VA against Huckabee with Huck seeing a small response. Very definitely its Repub party is old school and not subject to more recent repub changes. Pretty amazing that Paul did worse than Romney.
