Hey, I have a websites that pertains to free music downloads. It currently receives more than 10k unique, targeted visitors a day, and 40k+ pageviews per day. However, I am only making $10 a day from YPN and CPXInteractive. I can't put on adsense as it is against their TOS to put their ads on a site of such nature. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how to increase revenue? I figure that with 10k quality visitors a day, I can get more. I also figure that since people are coming to my site for free music purposes, they won't buy anything if I put up affiliate links. Please don't ask for my site URL. I won't give it Any ideas?
If you enjoy giving people spyware, www.ZangoCash.com can't be beat (or so I've been told). Will probably work really well on a site like yours...
How about adbrite? paypopup? adversal? I seriously don't expect people to make purchase from affiliate links. IMO popups won't be a prob for em as they are coming for free goodies.
pay per play and cpm ads. Check out my sig. I really love freedomofads.com. They are my favorite cpm network right now.
Have tried that It only gets around $10 a day, which is in my opinion terrible for the amount of visitors the site gets. I'd rather not have that on there to bother everyone for the small amount of money. I have adversal up actually. Gets about $20 a week =\ I might consider doing popups. Nice tip. I haven't really liked the idea of pay per play, but I might look into it. Freedom of ads isn't big enough for me to experiment with it. I'd like only trusted companies. Have you had any success with these? Where do you suggest I find these? Thanks for the tips, guys! I could always use more.
I don't think you tried hard enough. Try out their gateway (required or optional install) and you should see high conversions.
If you PM me, I will tell you of something which generates me about $2.50 per 1k visitors for a similar type of site. Those numbers aren't super-high, but it's decent pay and it is consistent.
How about this - try free incentive offers. Basically, there are some email/zip submit offers that you are allowed to incentivize. Tell your visitors they MUST enter their email (or zip code if you have many American visitors) to access the free content...and bingo, tons of leads at $0.50-$0.70 each. If this sounds good, send me a PM and I'll give you an affiliate link so I get rewarded for this awesome idea
Thats a decent amount of visitors, if your site is professional looking I would consider private ad sales as you best chance of making decent money - more work involved though.
I feel for ya.. So many people around here believe traffic is the answer to everything. Just not so, as your story highlights. The reality is that there is profitable traffic and then, well, traffic that is not-so-much good.... Keep at it...
But if he has low traffic in the same niche he would be making $0.10 per day. High traffic > Low traffic.

How many people installed zango on your site? If you only earned 10 $ daily then not many people installed zango or the traffic is not US traffic...
You may try to find some pay per leads offers so you get money for free subscription, people don't have to buy anything I think. I'm not really into pay per lead, but maybe free ringtones offers can do good.
Ringtone offers are never "free" - a visitor has to sign up at ~ $10 per month to get access to "bonus" ringtones. That's why email/zip/incentive offers are the way to go.
