    Hello everyone,

This is just an FYI about PayPal stolen accounts.

There has recently been alot of domain name scammer activity on all of the domain name forums, aftermarkets and other selling venues.

PayPal is most likely the most popular payment choice on the web. One of the easiest to use and very fast. However it is also extremly easy for scammers to scam you with.

They gain stolen PP accounts, buy your domain names and either they reverse the funds or the account comes back as stolen and PP reverses the funds.

If you have been scammed with a stolen PP account or believe that you have been scammed please report the email address on account with PayPal immedietly.

Be Proactive and Help Another Domainer OUT.

Call this PayPal phone number and report the stolen PayPal account email address so they can freeze it ASAP!:
(402)935-2100 - Call Center Inbound Call Center - Premier Services Line

Here is a list of all other numbers incase you wanna know: http://www.paypalsucks.com/PayPalPhoneNumbers.shtml

I called and reported all of the email address that I could find throught the various scammer report threads on the forums. They said to keep them updated and for everyone to call them if you suspect a stolen account.

Thanks for the heads up. Are these accounts possibly stolen when you purchase domains from 3 rd party sites? Just wondering because I purchased some domain names earlier today on another forum. Now I'm concerned. How can I check if these are proper transactions? Just looked at the Paypal account and all seems well.

I think the account passwords are stolen using keyloggers or phishing sites. So purchasing domains from 3rd party site will not get your account hacked.

Wow, I guess I can't be proactive enough, I jsut got scammed..

    See this thread:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=703641

Only Sedo and Escrow.com for me from now on. Or Money Order payments via Ebay, with a 7-14 day wait time for the funds to clear. I am a respected seller who is a member of the DNOA, a buyer shouldn't mind waiting for there name from me.. I hope.

I agree a good domain name is worth waiting for and also worth paying the escrow fees for fraud protection.

I too would think it is worth the wait. What's 7-14 days wait for a GREAT domain name? Heck, I would even forward the name or DNS to whatever they want once I get the check but I won't actually transfer the name for 7-14 days. That's only if I were to take a money order.

Good point Greenambler. I'll make it a point to wait before any transfers too.

Please take a moment and view this thread aswell. We are all getting together and contacting PayPal with our complaints. Perhaps many voices saying the same thing will get more than just another automated response.
