Google picks up all the topics on the DP within 1hour or less.

I was wondering why the signatures aren't getting picked up?

Is it better that I put my own signature like so

    __________________

Or it doesnt make a difference? Google/yahoo picks up links from my blog really quickly. I was wondering if there was a code that is blocking our signatures from being picked up

    backlinks.....

I can put one on my blog, and yahoo picks it up within 1day or so.

I checked my backlinks with yahoo, and not one signature link is from Digital point EXCEPT an anchorlink I placed WITHIN the message

Interesting, i've always seen quick results from DP signatures actually. I ranked first page for a niche term on google just by linking to the page with my signature once (was an interesting test, wasn't very highly competitive but it was certainly profitable).

DP signatures are virtually worthless for SERP's, i've been saying this a long time.

That's what I have been reading...they're only good for traffic (coming from the forum)

I think that SIG coding is basically a nofollow tag for spiders

I haven't heard or read of anyone that can show a backlink coming from a forum signature

No, signatures in forums are practically worthless for SEO reasons because there's so cotton-picking many of them in a typical thread. And that's just a typical thread, not the long and popular ones such as my All You Need to Know About SEO (link provided only as an example) thread. Seriously, think about it for a second. When you optimize a Web site, you try to control the number of outbound links from your site, right? Why should a forum be any different?

(For example, at the time I wrote this, there were 40 links leading OUTSIDE of Digital Point from signatures alone, including my WordPress SEO Checklist post on SitePoint.)

Well. My experience shows my clients that pay for my sig link spaces do get clicks from them. Many have said they get a reasonable amount of clicks.

I must also add that the more posts you make the more opportunities there are for Google to find your post. Hence, seeing the sig links below that post.

DP is crawled almost constantly by Google due to this entire site being seen as an authority site. That's why whatever the topic is posted about. Inevitably, it is going to be right up the top in the SERPs for that topic.

It's not all about outbound links and getting PR. It's all about creating opportunities to get your sig space seen.

    My two cents :)

    Col :)

It's really about SERP...otherwise everyone should just post their link..and not put a anchor text.

Yeah! DP forums is a well known and heavily crowded web forum, So surely getting lots of visitors. So, threads are being easily indexed within some hours. And if you have already made a posts within that thread, you(sign) would also be recognized by it and can get some clicks also.

I've got backlinks showing in the Google link: command, in Yahoo and in Webmaster Tools from a DP signature... However, them being recognized that they exist and having them help in SERP's is two different things.

Whenever you add links in signature in forums, all the search engines pick it and DP is Obviously a reputated forum.

DP is excellent forum, and it's back links are also as much as valuable as here DP provides platform to share views and ideas.
