Hugo Charvez has already threatened to stop selling oil to the US and now in a first step towards that he has stopped selling oil to Exxon Mobil. Will the US be next?

Will George W start a war with Venezuela?

If neocons have their way, North Korea, Iran, and Venezuela are on our list. Sad.

Chavez is an idiot, where the hell else is he going to sell that low quality filth he calls oil because not to many refineries outside the U.S. refine that crap. No way we need to goto war, Chavez will just be kicking himself int he ass if he stops selling to the U.S.

Chavez had threaten too many times, it is common to hear that, I haven't seen any real action on his side yet. Wonder when will he do as he said and stop selling oil to USA, would love to see who would suffer more.

Chavez needs us more than we need him. As soon as the dollars dry up in Venezuela, there will be mobs in the streets looking for Chavez's blood.

Trade is always a Win Win situation, but Chavez seemed bent on politicizing trade which is sad. Both needs each other definitely and both benefited from each other, but at this moment Venezuela needs USA more.

Venezuela could last like a month without selling to us, and what can we do in that month? Buy more from the middle east or use the oil reserves and watch Venezuela make no money and I laugh at Chavez. It would drive up oil prices a bit, but this would hurt Venezuela a lot more than us.

If the US starts building Nuclear power plants we can phase out Chavez. France generates 90% of their electric from nuclear power.

Does France have Nuclear powered cars?

Doesn't it take 15 years minimum to bring a nuclear power plant online?

How long before all the Uranium runs out?

Oil is no joking matter. I believe people here are underestimating how critical oil is and how badly this would effect the US Dollar.

France has TGV bullets trains that run on electric

There's something like 10,000 years of Uranium

Oil will run out in 50 years

Where do you get 10,000 years from?

Besides that it takes years to build nuclear power plants and electric TGV bullet trains. Chavez game will have an immediate effect on oil prices and the dollar. Its not the long term issue, its the short term issue. The US economy is teetering on the brink and one little happening like this could send it over the edge.

I do not know the source but if you calculate e=mc^2 you can roughly estimate that the power coming from nuclear powered plants are near infinite.

Actually its got nothing to do with the theory of relativity and all to do with known reserves, price compared to other technologies, and demand.

Demand so far is far outstripping known reserves and production and as a consequence the price of Uranium has increased more than oil over the last decade.

Some estimate that current uranium reserves are only enough to supply 100 years worth of energy of current demand. This discounts increased demand.

Don't they owe Exxon billions of dollars? Is there any good news right now? You can't even watch sports now without some type of major scandal or headache.

There's vast supplies of uranium in sea water and the earth's cust. But the price is higher extraction costs.
