About 2-3 weeks ago one of my sites suddenly went from page 1 (position 6-8) to page 3/4 (position 30-45) for all relevent keywords My pagerank is unchanged (3) If I search for my url or the name of my site I still come up #1 When I log in to webmaster tools there are no messages and my site is being indexed. When I click on diagnostic there are no errors. So WTF? I've been reading through various posts on here regarding Google penalties but its hard to tell the difference between what is true, what might be true, and what's total hogwash. Is there any sure fired way to tell whether this is a penalty or a coincidence? If it is a penalty, how can I find out what the problem is? I keep reading that I should file a reconsideration request, but the problem is I don't know whether or not there's a penalty, and if there is a penalty, I don't know why, so how can I fix it. I don't buy or sell links, but I do have some vengeful competitors. I wish Google would be more forthcoming with these witch hunts.
Just be happy your still in Google and keeping building your site up. Then you can get back to first spot again.
Your site not penalized.. It only your serp.. It happen to me also.. But my traffic still good as before.. Don't worried too much..
have you tried asking google for an explination? visit matt cutts blogg and comment him about it, maybe he will look into it
I have an issue I would like to fire out there, I have a 6 month old site that has suddenly disappeared from SERPs, its not dropped to last pages only 3rd or fourth but this is form most terms including it's name. Any ideas how to fix this?
keep adding more relevant content. depending on your keywords, you maybe back to the first page in several weeks if your competition is week, or over a year if the competition is somewhere like mine
in fact, google explains nothink about the punishments. but it seems that your problem is serp changes, not penalty
Yeah this seems like SERPS, although without more information it's hard to tell. Re: rsuog, what niche is that then?
This happens all of the time with Google. Your site will come back to your original status soon. Don't panic.... Google are known to do this all of the time
