I was thinking about buying this software but I'm unsure what most people really think about them. Do you think exit popups will help increase your sales or are they simply just a nuisance? http://www.exitgrabber.com/
I'd say if you do not count on returning visitors, then they are OK as it does not matter if you annoy someone who was never going to come back anyway or not I would not use them on a site that has established readership.
What the heck is a "squeeze page"? Also, what kind of software do you need to send personalized emails with the subscribers name in the email? I've been searching all over and haven't been able to locate a good one.
A squeeze page is a page where you are trying to squeeze the email address from your visitor check my "Free 5,000 Opt-In Leads" link in the signature and you will see an example. The answer to your second question is quite simple - autoresponder. Get yourself an account at aweber or alike and you will be able to do that.
Big time nuisance for me. Any kind of pop-up has me exiting the site as quickly as possible and never to return, including some of the more bigger named sites.
They annoy me a little. My browser blocks most of them. If your online to make sales then mabye annoying a few people is worth it. You cant make an omlette without breaking a few eggs. I don't use them myself in case the customer goes to the order page and gets a popup that turns them off.
I think exit pop ups are only good when you are trying to save the world or save someone you know. Only if it is an important issue otherwise ditch the pop ups and work on matters that are more important..... like building your vision and staying on top of your posting at your forums When the world gets in your face say "Have a Nice Day"
Maybe I should use them then. I have never made a sale from popunder traffic. Does anyone have a impressions/sale ratio for us?
I just found some exit popup software on Ebay for about $.75 and it's actually more sensitive than the one for over $100! The second you move your cursor over the top of the browser it immediately goes off. It's nice but I think it's going to hurt me more than help me.
But then again, I'm not so sure. I think most people who are moving their cursor toward the upper part of the page are planning on exiting anyway. Maybe this will help out if somebody is unsure whether they should buy it or not.
This one right here actually works the best. It's $47 which is somewhat reasonable and works exactly the way I want it to. The popup only comes up one time and is only activated when you hover over the "back" button. http://www.geckotribe.com/expop/
I will post the code tomorrow on my blog and on DP that you can use to create an exit popup like exit grabber. You can edit the code how you see fit. Keep in mind with exit grabber it encrypts the code so can only edit it through there program. Window size, page name, window name are the only things you can really change. Check out my blog below tomorrow (Wed.) and back here on DP as I will post it for everyone.
No I don't *think* that they are annoying. I wholeheartedly 100% absolutely positively GUARANTEE you that they are BLOODY ANNOYING ...but that doesn't mean one shouldn't use them in right places.
