PayPal is an amazing payment processor. You sound like some 13 year old kid with anger management issues. You do know when PayPal limits your account they dont keep the money. There is no plus for them. Only the stupidity of the user will get your PayPal account limited.
*COUGH* It's posts like this that make me have to fight the use of obscenities. At a certain point, if you can't convince them to un-freeze an account, yes, they DO keep it(if you're perma-banned). And they don't really need a good reason to freeze it in the first place. They operate like a bank, but without the regulation of a bank. It's absolutely ridiculous. Oh yeah, and their support sucks. Not as bad as epassporte, but pretty terrible.
Paypal is good, but when your entire business is built around one external vendor that doesn't really care about your business, then you need to find alternatives ASAP. Unfortunately, no one quites does what PayPal does.
Thank you kind sir! Up until this point I was unaware that allowing PP to take large cuts of any transaction you do was how the uber1337 people do business! I'll be sure to can my legitimate credit card processor, and Google Checkout immediately! I suppose I'll assume that giving pretty much a per-purchase tithe to Paypal will be rewarded with good karma! Really, your business sense is invaluable here! Giving away money...to make money...it all makes sense to me now. You condescending snob. Learn what you're talking about, or at least SUPPORT your view before you mouth off.
When hackers/crackers stop making our lives harder, then places like paypal can relax their standards. I doubt if that will ever happen. If anything I see more thieves coming online than ever. Post count on DP is valid for topics limited to DP. But someone with one post can have an authoritative post on topics other than DP. Basing the validity of a post on post-count is to restrict yourself from a lot of knowledge.
I don't have a Paypal account anymore and don't actually need one. I can accept enough Payment methods that I don't have to worry about Paypal. The problem I have found is because everyone knows Ebay, and Ebay push Paypal as being their preferred payment processor people fall for it and sign up for a Paypal account. I have only had chargebacks on my Paypal account, so far I have not had one Google Checkout chargeback, not had a cheque bounce and not been charged fees for processing cheques under $50. So I am much better of financially running my businesses without Paypal.
That's actually not true, I had my Paypal account frozen due to too many chargebacks when I was selling lots of items. I had to threaten Paypal with the Small Claims Court to get the money they owed me back, only after they recieved a formal solictors letter did they release the funds.
Its a whole 3% OH NO! Im going to miss the $6 a day I lose. I could care less, I GLADLY pay the fees because they deserve it. I sell between 10 and 15 items a day. I have received one charge back in the past four months. Learn to pick who you do business with. If I took everyone who wanted to buy from me I would sell around 30 a day but get a lot of charge backs.
10-15 items per day? Heh. Maybe you shouldn't be shelling out too much advice. From one website, 180 in the past 2 days, 1 chargeback for me. And maybe if we're playing for tiddlywinks, it's $3.00. For me, that's over $700 per week that I don't feel like forking over to them, when I can use a legit CC processor and pay much less. Small time? Maybe it's ok, on the off chance they don't lock your account up and you don't get hacked. But if you're doing anything worthwhile and profitable, it adds up and it's crap.
Probably never. I don't think they should send because I like their user interface, policy and stuff but they just have to keep the fee low. -_-
Yeah I only make $5.5k a month, I bet its more than you and your lies. You make $25,000 a week? Thats how much you would need to make to pay $700 in fees. If youre going to lie make it more reasonable. You arent going to get locked if you do things right and you arent just going to get randomly hacked. Take care of your computer and it wont happen.
I do blackhat. My income fluctuates REALLY rapidly. This week is an on week. Next week may not be. And no, $700 is more than I'm willing to give up. Right now, I don't need the money too much. But who knows how it's going to be a year from now? 2 years? I've been in (and out of) money too many times already to give up on cash I earned. I know that eventually, I may be sitting here wishing I had that $700 I forked over. So I make sure that doesn't happen. And oh yes. I have considerable expenses. And yes, I've been locked by PP when I used them before. Several times. Paypal does not like fluctuating incomes. They like steady income of the same amount from the same people.
My complaint was with paypal 2 months ago when I tried to purchase a years worth of service for a dedicated server and paid with a credit card. I charged 525.00 on the credit card on file and then turned around the same day and purchased an item on ebay for 125 dollars. They froze both payments because they needed more information on my spending so I did the phone verification, passed, did the authoriazation for 1.95, gave them the code and 2 weeks later they lifted my account restriction Turned around and bought something for 325 from a website for xmas and they did the same exact thing. Just had my paypal activated again and the account and the credit card were verified 3 years ago with never a chargeback from my customers. They look out for your account but need to be more like a company and verify with a phone call instead of shutting you down, a verification can eliminate a lenghty process that hurts businesses. Since then I have set up a merchant account and now customers choose to use that over paypal. Fees are lower and your money gets deposited to your bank which is easier in the long run
The current policy is Paypal will freeze the funds for 180 days to allow for any chargebacks and disputes and after which would allow you to withdraw the funds. The only situations in which the funds cannot be withdrawn is if fake information were used or if the funds have all been refunded.
