It’s a free world so free expression is primarily permitted in the main

Think about that quote, it’s not like that is it?

    Censored press in many countries

Suppression of Free Speech in many countries

    Dictatorships

Political control and regulations et al

    Common Law

    etc etc

But anyway let’s have a look how Diverse Opinions roll-out on DP

This Thread was opened recently on DP in the Directories Category

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=694914

Then I saw this post in the thread

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=6458695&postcount=16

i would have just refunded and left it at that.

i dont play with crap like this.

I saw this post and in my opinion it was correct in relation to how I saw the posts on the thread

    So I posted this

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=6462931&postcount=27

It took all those time consuming posts to get to this which is 100% the correct solution

Now I posted that based on a commercial opinion (time is money) and a refund is a timely and complete solution, incurring the least costs (imho) so I posted ie my opinion which concurred with the post

    Then I got some Rep

Trouble with site owner... Feb 8th 2008 7:37 am Spot on! Brian1970

    and then another

Trouble with site owner... Feb 9th 2008 11:52 am You're still the biggest idiot on the forum. Probably the biggest creep I've ever come across
    (from someone anonymous)

    That’s Diverse Opinions

I know my philosophy whether it is right or wrong. I do not really care but I support the Directory Category period and if I make a post agreeing with a successful Directory Owner then that is what I will do Agree

The number of members (and there are many and most of them I will un-ashamedly class as my buddies) who run full time businesses are always the one’s I agree with 99% of the time, as they are committed and they have to succeed.............and anyone else who wants to succeed through hard work and effort, I will support

To quote a former US President
    Lyndon Baines Johnson
    http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Lyndon_B._Johnson

‘It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.’

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that is what we should do here stick together to make it a success for one and all.

The cake is big enough for all to have a cut

    Is It Not?

The saying is the cake is big enough for us to all have a slice, but you were close enough. :)

We're all entitled to have differing opinions britishguy, some we don't agree with, some we do. If you look at how the thread you mentioned has led, ignoring the petty attempts to undermine it, the general consensus would be some people may not be able to afford to just let $20 go, some like an0n perhaps could, and said as much. It doesn't make him right, certainly not 100% but it's his view and it should be respected, right or wrong.

The problem I see here is some people want the whole cake or at least the cream off it and leave the rest to pick up the crumbs, that's what gets to people and as much as most don't like the posters who stand up to this demanding their fair share.

We can't all work together while there is greed in this world, a sad statement I know, but its very true.

btw, I am not in any way pointing fingers at any individual or group, I'm just making a broad observation.

I bet that less than 10% of the dir owners will refund in this cases. I prefer ending this post here because this is a waste of time for me and for you.

PS: Imagine if those 20$ were 50$ or so...the percentage of refund will be less than 2-3% IF !

I already commented on the refund so the only new thing I really have to say is that one rep was out of line imo.
