I want to see that. I suggest bowing out now. And stop clicking your own ads, even though you need money for your attorney
I just needed to post to get this saved to my notifications -- it's too classic to miss a second of it.
This is preposterous. Just ignore everything. There is no law that backs up what he says here - its not libel if its factual. I would say theres about a 90% chance that the "DFSfromIN" is just a fakepost from a member here, honestly.
If he really starts getting legal with you, i.e., his lawyer contacts you, you can turn to EFF. After all, this is a first amendemnt issue.
It's legit, the registration email matches the email he gives in my blog. Funny thing is, when I first saw the PM I wondered what I'd done to piss off one of the Indian members here. I'm not big on the state abbreviations used in the US The interesting thing here is which country's legal system applies. If it's the US then yes, I can call the first amendment, and we have similar laws down here. Given that the site isn't even hosted in the US I can't see how he can work through the US legal system.
Tw@t. Maybe so, but it doesn't compensate for your inferior knowledge of the law. Why would you need to encourage clicks then? Don't worry - there's no chance of that! She probably will given time. But what about the rest of us?
Say you'll sue him for spamming you . (joke) I wouldn't even let this bother you. His email seems unprofessional and not serious at all, an empty threat. If he was serious, he would've referenced the laws you are breaking, etc. And secondly, I mean he wants a % of your Adsense Profits off that blog post, you probably earned less than $5.00 of it, he gonna sue you for $2.50?
If he did talk to a lawyer already, the lawyers first advice would be NOT to contact you. It's a general rule of thumb to avoid confusion.
Sell the blog to me and lets see him come after me. You can keep the adsense in your name. Just want some fun.
LOL. Smooth action. This post - although not funny for Sarah K, has made me laugh...a lot. So, Steven Rayman®, Steven Rayman© or Steven Rayman™ ?? This isn't a case of libel, either. As you've not specifically stated anything other than factual information. Word of advice for our friend Mr. Rayman. If you're into the funeral home and cemetery thing - get a grip of yourself and of life in general - and, well, shut up, basically. I think 'missinglink' would rather make you a permanent addition to that cemetery Truly brilliant. I'd love to see the return of Rayman. Disclaimer: Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is purely coincidental. Any named individuals are a figment of my imagination, after all, I am a Super Hero. Subject to change without notice.
Hi Spider, glad you laughed, me to about he's threats. Actually I think the undertaker is really upset about nothing. Just don't like seeing someone threatened.
I don't think you own him something. Blogs are protected as a form of journalism. And if you mentioned someone in one or other way without posting false information you wouldn't be required to share profit or to be sued for that. I'm positive about this, but it is better to speak about this with a lawyer.
Or not... this thread was started in December and it's now April. Looks like common sense has prevailed.
I have no knowledge of US Law but, if this um... kind person??? Did have a legitimate case then we would have no Magazines, Newspapers and the news on TV would be very different! If I had millions of dollars and a similar personality disorder to this guy, I wouldn't write my own threatening letters, I'd have my lawyers do it. One more thing... Private domain registration won't shield anyone from a genuine legal claim. Will it? Good on you for standing your ground sarahk!
Not exactly, It COULD be considered a Trade Name Breach IF he has the Name Registered! And that, People usually sue for in Civil Court and WIN. Although, It depends on Country and/Or State! Exactly, People THINK they can stand behind PD Laws - And it never holds up. Even GPL is under fire most of the time, Greed is everywhere. As far as having your legal counsel compose for you, You CAN do the same thing without the price tag$. We ALL are using one of the BEST Legal Information Systems available (Its called the Internet). Here in the States, I have seen MANY Lawsuits that I believed had not merit. Much to my suprise, The Judge saw it differently. So never assume, Grab research for yourself - Understand it, and you just became the cheapest lawyer you can find!
You see the way suing works is if the person can get a lot of money from it, then the lawyers will pursue it, and take a percentage of the money. But if there's no money in it then no one is going after it. If you are making tens of thousand dollars from that you would be worried, but if not you shouldn't worry about it
lol! I'm still waiting for those 'papers' from Costa Dedes!!!! This thread was made five months ago in December with a 'seven day warning.' He showed up two months after da thread was made...with another warning. Now it's been three more months and his next post...will be another fake 'warning'! I smell a toal n00bie, since he doesn't even know how to find da contact info of a domain owner!
