Hello (Geek) Guys and Dolls, I'm a budding webmaster who loves to watch movies, TV series and read fantasy, sci-fi and anything supernatural. I've started a few sites already and wishing here that I can earn six figures like most PRO webmasters here do. Good luck to us all! The iPlunge(r)
I have a little over 3000 Original Titles in my Movie Collection. I'm not however a big fan of the Sci-Fi genre. Besides the obvious what are your favorites in the Sci-fi genre? Paul
I love everything that dabbles on time and on theories (both insane and plausible) about the universe (alternate universe, multi-verse, etc.). In fact, I'm anticipating the release of Coraline, which is based from Neil Gaiman's novel (well, more of a novella or novellete if there's such a thing). It's about an alternate-verse, which, in my opinion, introduces the concept of a mirror universe, of matter and anti-matter. I'm also a big fan of the Gunslinger series (no movie yet), by no other than the KING, Stephen King. Well, my love for it started with my love for spaghetti westerns, the Sergio Leone ones. The old Eastwood starrer flicks are my regular Holy Week movie list. The Westernesque feel of the Gunslinger and it's sci-fi tune is what makes it a great read. I didn't imagine that a western setting could be married with a sci-fi plot. How about you, what type of genre you usually watch or read?
You talk my language, nice to see another fan of clint & sergio and another contemplator of universal theories and secrets! Make yourself at home and hope you'll have some good times here!
Hi iplunge I'm a big fan of the Epic/Myth genre. Stories whose Theme involves Titanic clashes of great universal forces that involve historical change. Apocalypse Now, Birth of a Nation, Grapes of Wrath, Lawrence of Arabia, The Ten Commandments, Ghandi, Stars Wars (it's really more in this genre set in a Sci-fi locale) 10 Commandments that sort although I enjoy most movie genre's if they're well done. (Including Sci-Fi) Not much time for reading lately but prefer historical fiction and biographical works when I indulge myself. Thanks for the Great Post. Paul
