I'm not having much luck with my good adsense on my website. It's been up for about a week but no clicks at all. Can anyone suggest any hints or tips?

    My website is www.greenpowermoney.com

    Thanks!

The key to getting clicks is traffic. You need tonnes of it!

I would also suggest adding another adsense banner, like the 468x60 one at the top of the most recent blog post.

Adding another banner means showing more ads... and that means showing more low cost ads. I think what you have is good enough but I would make your ads blue. People click on blue links more.

A one week old site is hardly long enough to make any money. The more you write and the older your domain gets, the more natural long tail hits from google :)

    good luck!

U don't have adsense on your page?

Except for 2 block of links, people have to click twice where
only the second click is the one you will earn from!

Try putting an adblock in the 'solar panel' post, and see what
    happens.

Most importantly, are you getting traffic to your 'one-page-site' ??

    Ok thanks for the help!

I didn't realise they wern't adverts. I've now changed them to adverts instead of links.

I've placed an extra ad block in the first post. What do you think now?

    www.greenpowermoney.com

I'm receiving about 25-50 uniques a day at the moment.

You need to get lots of traffic to your website. You could market your websites through video submission to various video sharing websites, write and submit articles through various article directories websites, and many others.

Besides, you need to refine your webpage content so that you could get ads with a higher payout keyword in your websites. In addition, you must refine your web layout and content to blend in with your ads.

    May success with you...

How do you suggest better traffic? Should I display on more pages instead of just the one page?

Aye, focus on getting more traffic now - then focus on optimizing your ads later.

On average, you'll only get a click-through rate of at most a couple percent. This could be lower - around 1%. So until you have 1-200 uniques per day, you shouldn't expect to see a regular amount of clicks.

Once you have ~200 uniques a day, you should start to see some statistical trends. What is the click-thru rate of your ads? What is the payout rate of your ads? Taken together, what is the eCPM for your site?

If these are all ridiculously low, then you may want to look for an alternative to adsense. Some sites and niches just aren't good at generating click-throughs - which means you'll never make money with adSense.

If that's the case, look for ads that pay you based on impressions (text ads, like text-link-ads or tnx.net are ok, and you can get banner ads through other networks).

I think your site is still young. You can't expect tons of traffic in such a short time.

I have a site that has a tiny number of visitors...

However, it constantly gets 20% to 70% CTR...

The trick i have found is to put the ad block next to images of women.. simple as that. men are drawn to it, notice the add and something in their subconscious makes them click.

I don't hide the fact they are ads, they just have small images next to the ad block.. nothing to outrageous, just a nice looking 'bit of crumpet' and along come the punters. lol.

James - You could double that traffic easily just by putting your website link in your signature on this forum and by posting a fair bit. A lot of visitors to my blog come from this site.

Looks a lot better with those two ad blocks there, they should get you more clicks but the key is traffic. I run about 4 sites with Adsense and I have noticed that you really need lots of visitors to make anything. However, your niche might be pretty good :)
Check out the blue link in my sig for some ideas on how to get some more traffic. The facebook method might be a good one ;)
