as much as i love Drupal, the one thing that it lacks is a choice of good themes.. If you want something really fancy, Web 2.0 or cool, you'll probably have to code it yourself... Joomla might have a lot better looking, fancier themes to choose from.
This site: http://themegarden.org/drupal50/ has all of the 'known' Drupal themes set up in a live/demo fashion. I don't know that I've seen any that fit your description. If you know a little PHP, and can find a HTML/CSS-based theme that you like, the free chapter (chapter 8) from this book: http://www.drupalbook.com/ will tell you how a Drupal theme works, and give some clues on how to convert it to work with Drupal. Also, I have seen a few tutorials out there that describe the process of making an HTML template in to a Drupal theme.
It's not much good to you now, But www.drupalsnippets.com has code snippets but will also be offering Drupal themes in the near future. Anyone reading this post after April 08 should head over there.
