Obama could be Assassinated says Doris Lessing

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - If Barack Obama becomes the next US president he will surely be assassinated, British Nobel literature laureate Doris Lessing predicted in a newspaper interview published here Saturday.

Obama, who is vying to become the first black president in US history, "would certainly not last long, a black man in the position of president. They would murder him," Lessing, 88, told the Dagens Nyheter daily.

Sounds bizarre but the more you think about it .............

Really being president is pretty damn dangerous if you look at it historically. Most of us don't have to worry about being assassinated.

If Obama is elected he will be well protected. Security is a lot greater than 40 years ago.

It was pretty damn dangerous for the terrorists and communits. The Berlin Wall came down and the US won the cold war.

 

Don't they all base their campaign on being the "not establishments', but people's president" so that's the kind of foresight which probably would drive a candidate more sympathy than anything else.

If security detail is done right , a lone assasin could never get close enough again. True protection is when the secret service and the military comb the area weeks in advance. If you notice when jfk was liquidated, windows in buildings were left open and all secret service detail were in a car behind him, another words , it was setup for a turkey shoot. Now im not talking about 3rd world leaders who dont have the finances or security sofistication that countries like america or china do.

 

they can use an anti-tank missle if they really want to kill someone from a distance. Or they can kill him when he visits other countries. No one is perfectly safe

 

The US isn't Romania or Russia. They don't sell anti-tank missles on the corner.

 

Obama doesn't look like he polarises people, I can't think of anyone who would look at him and say "I want to assassinate this guy"
Well, he is kind of unremarkable, when i think of it.

The question is who'd want him out,
Terrorists ? unlikely as Bush is still around
or a revived kkk ?
