Need help installing a theme for Wordpress

Ive just started a blog and now id like to install an ad-sense ready theme however i do not know where to begin. can someone who has successfully done this please shed some advice. Thanks

 

Go to your root folder
fine wp-content >> themes>>
Upload your themes folder here..
After that go to 'presentation' on your wordpress admin & activate your themes

 

do i need an upgrade to do this, i dont see this on my dashboard currently

 

Upload it using ftp sofware..

 

it is still hosted on wordpress and not by my own hosting

 

You can't use Adsense (or any form of advertising) on a wordpress.com blog.

You're also limited to the themes they already have loaded for you to choose from.

 

if i choose to get my own hosting then it should be kosher right?

 

Yes, using wordpress (from wordpress.org) means you can do whatever you want.
