It's in New York Times. Google is making calls. Lobbyists are on the move. Google is scared of the marriage. Google is trying to stop the deal.
Google is raising anti trust issues etc, actually it is more tit for tat, Microsoft was doing the same when Google is buying Double Clicks, these are common practices among those giants, I would be surprised if no such actions are taken.

They will try their best, I think their legal and financial advisors are all working overtime to ensure that this merger does not go smoothly
Not that easy, I think it will be months and months of due diligence before they come out with something.
Google will not just stand around waiting for the merging of two giants trying to pull it down (no matter how difficult that's going to be)
guess if google offers a bid higher then microsoft and buy yahoo and co. then what? we have all the major engines displaying results on same pattern. good for something --at least we as an seo have a single focus to target
I don't think thats likely to happen. As both of them practically control the webmaster line of though, it's scary to think of something like that happening. Besides Google is focussed on what it's doing and unlike Microsoft, they don't have a giant looming over them, rather they have giants trying to catch up with them.
well google can set this up and finish this once for all and be secured enough for atleast10 years from now that they dont have anyone trying to cacth them if they do buy yahoo. think of world beyond yahoo and google-- and we wont find anything else. it wld be a bit expensive but with all the strategies that google have --marketing .advertisment etc etc --they can cover the cost in a pretty short time and then rule the search world of www
They can't , reason why they have not bid till now is because they won't be able to pass the anti trust scrutiny of USA and Europe.
my knowledge to this anti trust scrutiny etc is ver limited. thanxs mate for informing. it was an idea that was surrounding my mind ever since i haerd of this microsoft takeover ---what if google bids and won
