I have a newbie question regarding article submissions. I have come across the same article being posted on multiple article directories. If I do the same and I also have the exact same article on my website, won't all these articles be considered duplicate content? How will this help in my SEO? Or the article submissions are just another means of creating backlinks?
I would strongly advice you keep the articles unique (figure by creating duplicate articles in purpose). What you could do is create another article, based on the current one you have in your website but changed and then submit this "second" article on article directories.
Well to be honest even if you did not submit them to loads of directorys the article will only get copied and added to loads of blogs instead, you will find if the article is on your site it may not get indexed or will get dropped from the search engines index due to it being duplicate content as on many other sites. Thing is with articles they have links to your site in related content to your website so by submitting it to loads of directorys even if it is limited just how many of them pages will be indexed your building inbound links for free. Thats all its for simpley to get some inbound links. If they are really good articles and worth keeping on your site to attract other people to your site or as link bait then that the best course of action.
Basically just another means of creating backlinks i think. It probably will be considered as duplicate content and the value lowered. As far as content for your website goes unique always wins.
Thats my point though and what makes me laugh when people say it has to be unique, how long do you think it is really going to stay unique now there are so many blogs just copying content from everywhere they can.
meh i believe article submission is becoming to spammy... and its really hard to avoid duplicate content.. try to switch over to directory submitting or something my say is.. you are better off doing what i do have 1 main site.. not worry much about it, then have 10 smaller sites.. that link to the main site.. now start to get backlinsk to the smaller sites as fast as you can.. then place ads then dump them (like leave them.. ).. then start to make 10 new ones.. and repeat.. i have a really good ebook i wrote that can explain some more. also to back me up you could get direct links to your site.. yet for each good directory you find.. you can get mroe juice.. (by submitting all those 10 blogs ect over just submitting 1 site) and on top of all taht.. 10 different blogs = 10 diffrent forms of content, which is easier to get backlinks. Normally how people do it Page and -> = (linking) 3 PR Page -> Main site My way (idk i call it my style lol) 3 PR Page -> Blog 1# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 2# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 3# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 4# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 5# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 6# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 7# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 8# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 9# which -> to Main Site -> Blog 10# which -> to Main Site (and you would leave / or you can link to your main site again.. ) I believe my model here can show you how a pr 3 page (directory ) can benefit even more
If your going to do articles, spend some time on them and make them high quality articles I have spoken with a google representative and it is indeed ok to do articles, just DONT spam.
If you want to increase backlinks and page rank then submit always unique articles in top article directories. Duplicate articles increase few visitors but not beneficial to increase your SERP's. So better submit unique articles always. Online Java Tutorials | Java Forum
I dont think that articles submitted to different sites is considered as duplicate content. I was once worried about this too, and in search of the answer, I found somewhere on official google site(I dont remember where it was), that article submission to different sites is not considered as duplicate content
