I am just wondering why people are so obsessive about making money online. I think about 90% of people who are trying to make money are not really making money online. If I had spent the same amount of time offline working in a bar / shop, I would have earned at least $25 an hour instead of those $0.02 cents from Google Adsense. Is it because most people believe in "free bucks" from web? What is your opinion?
well it all depends, some people are getting into online businesses as a hobby to earn side money or they do not have a job, dont have time to go for part time or full time job due to other personal matters but still tight in schedule. others are focusing the web business as the real full time job and getting dedicated into it and earnming more. its all about efforts, dedication and.or your preference of doing it (hobby or for real?)
I said for an example - may be I would downsize it to $16 per hour which is a minimum pay rate in Australia. Yes, perfect for mums who can work (blog) from home Good reply. I especially like the "dedication" part. Because, I guess many of those who are looking to make money are not sincere in their efforts. They settle to create mediocre content and look for "free money". Hard work (and Smart work) pays.
Its so much more fun than a 9 to 5 job. Although I havnt had a job in my life I know this is more fun. I make $32 an hour working online. Thats if I worked 40 hours a week though. If you actually calculated my hours itd be more like $170 an hour.
Well people get inspired by others making big money, without knowing that they spent alot of time on their projects, whereas they want the money same as them, in a matter of minutes.
Its because of the potential to make much more than 25$ in a bar or shop. Also who doesn't want to work from home.
I do this too. I use my online earnings to buy stuff from ebay. I have not used any of offline earnings so far.
i think its the same people that promote products and services related to the internet that are creating this illusion. You can make more money quickly loading trucks than to making money with adsene at the same amount of time. But realistically, the reality of making money on the internet doesn't sell, its the illusion that sells. People would rather make money sitting on their asses then to load trucks. thats the AMERICAN way!
lol.. not much challenge you had. This is another interesting aspect, people look for challenges. it is like the pursuit of gold nuggets during gold rush.
well you could also get unexpected payments from companies you signed up but forgot about it (just got $100 check today haha)
For the initial days, the online earnings would be small - but, if we continue to work at the same intensity, then the earnings increase slowly and there comes a point where you would be earning a lot with less efforts. Where is the tipping point? well, it depends on what you do online and how you do to earn. thats great ..congrats. For me, the surprise moment came on one fine day, when the adsense earnings suddenly spiked to $200 (yes, within a 24 hr period) ..from 200 clicks, 12,000 visits. The Spectacular American Dream. We all fall for it..LOL..
About half my income comes from online earnings (the rest is from clients) - I average about the same monthly income as my friends that work 'real' jobs. But forget about the money, it's the lifestyle that I like. I can walk away from 'work' any time I like. I can get drunk at work. I can work at 4am if I want. I can go on holidays and take my work with me. etc... I couldn't ever work a 'real job', so it's either make a success of what I'm doing, or give up completely.
Even during the California Gold Rush in 1849 it wasn't the gold prospectors that were making money, it was the hardware salesman selling the shovels and gold pans. Those are the ones that made money out of the frenzy, the internet is the gold rush all over again. . .
Everyone loves free money online But if you are making like $0.02 per day, it might increase to $200 a day in the near future. The near limitless potential earning online is what attracts me.
Yes, the freedom. Oh boy, I would love that. I agree that you are tied up in a 'day job' and your earnings remain constant even if your boss makes more money because of you. 'Unlimited potential', thats exactly the point. Everyone jumps in because of getting a bite of the huge potential. They want to make quick bucks, easier and effortless. I am talking on behalf of most bloggers who complain that they earn only $0.02 a day and give up.
My first site was a proxy site which earned $1700 the first month. The second month it earned over $2000. When I started the site I have now I made $3000 the first month.
