I read what you said and realized the two logos I entered previously were completely apart from what you were looking for. I've tried again, using the lovely curly font Grenouille and the font Kravitz Thermal for the slogan. It's simple but I'm guessing that's what you're looking for? Please let me know what you think, and if you'd like any designs or images added - and if so what kinds? (Click for full size). Thanks!
Hi, folks! Thank you very much for improving quality in this contest! At the moment I’m very busy with my daily work, but soon (in a few hours) I will post some more detailed feedback again. Thanks for your patience! "See" you later, Christian P.S.: My favorite logo is still the one posted by RNHalawis.com (many thanks for the revisions – of course you will also get feedback on that). But for all others there is no reason to give up yet. The contest has only just begun (still 9 days to go)…
Hello RNHalawi.com, Thanks a lot for your logo revisions. I prefer the first revision keeping the kaleidoscopic pattern above the lettering (instead of behind) and I think the smaller version of the dot on the i is much better (or maybe now it is even a little bit too small?). In addition I still prefer the large curled “B†with red color (instead of green). Therefore you can easily abandon the second revision which tried to solve the problem of height. Never mind – it’s always good to have some variations to realize what you like from the old version. Generally spoken I think the order of colors can be left like it was in the original logo. To be honest I do not really like the new three-dimensional effect on the letters (with tiny black shadows). I would rather keep it plain or flat like it was in your first version - even if by this it maybe will look less flashy or modern (but I’m not 100% sure about that and should discuss this point with my brothers again). Could it still be possible to pimp up the color intensity a bit to make it more lively or bright (with this I do not mean any shading)? By the way I like what you did in the first revision with the slogan (“Das Weblog von Mineralium.comâ€), because you kept it in an austere and subdued style which nicely contrasts with the colorful main title. Best regards, Christian P.S.: Feedback on other proposals is coming soon…
thanks again for a very detailed feedback.. I really appreciated it! I will submit more ideas... =) cheers!
Hello again, Here comes some feedback: @ SuperBlog: I appreciate your self-criticism – particularly in the face of the fact that your first two logo concepts absolutely did not belong to the worst! Thus, thank you for your professional looking designs and thanks also for your new try. Indeed your new font type comes more closely to what we were looking for, but to my taste it is a bit too much comic style. I think in that matter we are already one step ahead with the entries of RNHalawi.com. @ rupertValentino: Thank you very much for a really creative looking logo draft! Unfortunately it is not really my taste. I hope you can content yourself with this response. Great work anyway! @ RNHalawi.com: You are welcome - keep it up! @ Asian Wice Picker: To be honest, I do not really like your logo drafts up to now. Maybe it is because the colors don't go well together. Perhaps you could work on that if you have some time left? Good night from Germany, Christian
Hi Tranzemaniac, Interesting variation on the favored logo concept – thanks for that! Anyway, I do not really like the font type (I still prefer the version posted by RNHalawi.com). Best regards, Christian
Hello everyone, I would like to help you a bit on your logo concepts with a probably important additive hint, concerning the favored font type. I realized that I strongly prefer an art nouveau* font for “Bunte Steine†(I think that the font type by RNHalawi.com also could be called art nouveau style). I like the characteristic highly-stylized, flowing, curvilinear designs which leave much space to incorporate decorative motifs inspired from nature. So, if you are looking for a promising font type in this contest, you should search in that direction. Of course that’s not easy, because there are hundreds of different art nouveau font types to choose from. Anyway, just try it – even if it’s different from this suggestion (for example Art Deco could also be nice)! Thanks for your attention, Christian *Also known as “Modern Style†(English), “Jugendstil†(German), “Stile florale†or “Stile liberty†(Italian).
Hi to everyone, Sorry to be quite for some days but I had to sleep some nights on the new concepts. Thank you very much for the increased quality of your entries! Today you will get some detailed feedback again (I just have to finish my daily work). Especially the new drafts by Coolwanz will make the decision hard… "See" you later! Christian www.mineralium.com P.S.: According to plan this contest will end on Sunday the 17th of February 2008.
Hello again, At last here comes the promised feedback on your logo entries: @ forall: Your work is very different from the others, because you have chosen a stylish and plainly visible font type. The red of the “S†fits very well to the total concept of the site. My older brother really likes your concept, but to be honest, your prospects are quite poor because in this case we are looking for something different. Thanks a lot! @ Tranzemaniac: Again two nice tries, again two interesting font types – but to come straight to the point: They are not really to my taste (even if the second font type is indeed called “Art Nouveau“). Anyway, please accept my thanks! @ akshayhack0123: I’m sorry, but in general your proposal is not on the line of what I am looking for. Thanks anyway! @ RNHalawi.com: Thanks again for your very good in this contest! It’s certainly not a bad sign if I still prefer your old font type and dot on the i instead of the two new entries. But I’m afraid that there has appeared a strong “opponent†on the scene… @ coolwanz: First of all sorry for my late reply, but you took us by surprise pretty much. Thank you very much for your professional and very good looking logo concepts by which you have gone into the lead (sorry to RNHalawi.com)! To quickly come to the point: Concerning the graphical realization we especially like the colorful kind of gemstone from the draft in the middle – to be precise: the variation bottom left with a little “baby†gemstone (also because two stones would better represent the plural of “Steine†in the title). The other illustrations can be omitted (but nice work anyway!). To choose for the right font type is a little bit more difficult, but again we prefer the middle one (same as left above) and the bottom left one. That means left above and bottom right font type can be abandoned. Thus could you please enlarge the bottom left graphic and combine it with both font types (or even slightly different)? A great job so far! Thanks again to everybody for hard working. I really appreciate that - regardless of whether I like your logo or not! Good night, Christian http://www.mineralium.com/bunte-steine/ P.S.: Have a good finish! The race is not yet over (4 more days to go)...
Hi mineral, Thank you very much for the positive and very detailed feedback. I appreciate it. Left-bottom logo is what you have selected. I will make the necessary revisions (with the font variations) as requested. best regards.
