What do you guys think about this ebay feedback change that is being planned?

Sellers will not be allowed to leave negative feedback to buyers anymore.

The problem I see arising with this is that in my auctions I have it setup so that users with -1 feeback or lower cannot bid on my items. This helps prevent non paying bidders extremely well for me.

I think it's ridiculous. Now, if the buyer is a delinquent, there's nothing you can do about it to warn others? It just doesn't make sense. This is an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation...

Ebay might be losing revenue and is starting to get desperate to keep buyers. you notice that there are so many auctions, but not that many buyers which makes it a buyers market of course. But that lopsidedness may be hurting them. Also, people are buying at other places including craigslist. I work with the ebay affiliate program through cj and have noticed that they have increased revenue commissions for new signups. So they may be losing market share. I guess thats why they teamed up with google.

The whole purpose of feedback is so others can see how someones transactions have gone. If a buyer is a slow payer, says they never recieved the item and they did. If you can't leave negative, how can you warn others that the buyer is someone they should be wary off.

Just seems as a way for ebay to allow buyers to scam sellers for longer.

I think they should drop the hammer on those who like to leave negative feedback on everyone they buy and sell from. Yes, they are out there. A simple case by case review should be in place for such complaints.

    OR

ebay should flip the cash when people are ripped off. If they are not going to aid in the prevention, then they should fit the tab.

    2 cents.

I really think this might be the door opener to...SCAMMERS.

I can see how many of them would be able to get away by doing this....plus I also read that Paypal will place a 'hold' on the money for 21 days.

So basically, are they expecting me to send out the product BEFORE payment? Yeah, right...

I think this was a bad move as sellers are going to RUN AWAY to somewhere else where it is free..or much more reasonable.

    Exactly.

Not a snowball's chance .... I would send out product before receipt, and verification I am getting paid.

    screw paypal and ebay.

You tell me why the hell I would let them hold my payment for 3 weeks, so when the buyer gets the item, he can just deny the whole thing saying it never came and I'd be the one getting fucked up the ass, because 98% of the time, paypal takes sides with the buyers.

    SCREW PAYPAL

I have not used ebay or paypal for over a year now, and articles like that just prove why I am right to keep away from them.

    Hey,

Ebay is crazy doing something like that! They need to get a grip! A better system is needed to stop
    fraud and non payers etc!!
You think with the amount of money they are making they can come up with something!!

I think we're all basically in agreement here, aren't we. It's ridiculously unfair if one side of a transaction can leave negative feedback, and the other can't. Particularly if the one that can't is the one that is paying ebay in fees!
