What's so great about Dubai?

I just think it's amazing what they are doing over there. From what it looked like in the last 5 years and what it's going to look like in the next 10 years. Amazing. I heard in about 20-25 years they are going to run out of oil therefore they are spending a ton of money now to build it up as a huge tourist location. It's pretty amazing if you think about it... kinda like Las Vegas.

Any thoughts from anyone on here? Anyone from here? Just thought I'd like to bring this up!!

I live here - it's a decent place, but boring (for visitors) unless you know people.

 

Who has the SLR McLaren?

My Dad is looking to get a Gallardo for our dealership. Dubai holds the biggest population of Bugatti Veyron's too

 

Everyone goes there to buy tax free gold/electronics etc

Well... the main thing to visit is the Burj Al Arab (at the moment, of course they are coming up with other things).

There is also Ski Dubai, which is pretty cool, although anyone that's been to a place with snow will not find it interesting... and Wild Wadi, which is far surpassed by some waterparks in Canada/USA.

It's the same as any country, some rich some poor. There is probably a greater disparity between the two though.

I don't know why I feel this way but touring to that side of the world just doens't seem safe anymore Have you personally been to Ski Dubai?

that's why im planning to visit that country. well, i'll know when i get there.

 

I'm hoping to go there this summer. Had the chance last year but just got so damn lazy. I take a mandatory vacation every summer.

 

my dad have visited dubai once doing some business there , and since i heard him talking about dubai im planning to visit it soon
