This is what is confusing to so many people, especially those who don't live in the USA. The cross necklace has nothing to little to do with Christianity, being born in America has NOTHING to do with Christianity. Wearing a cross necklace is trendy and even people who hate Christianity have been seen wearing them. Goths wear crosses for pete's sake.

American's are not Christians by birth or heritage. You can't be a Christian because your parents were or by wearing symbols. (Now I am not talking about catholism, but Christianity of the Bible.)

The bible shows how God corrects himself, and given the following situation, which is sinning?

So was Peter sinning by doing what God says?

    Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us this:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

This basically says that it is our faith that gets us to heaven.

At the same time, works is very important as well. There are plenty of people who perhaps believe in one God, maybe even the same God I believe in. However, James 2 clearly states that if you are truely saved, you will have the desire to do works, which I equate to having a desire to go to church and learn more about who God really is.

God didn't correct himself. He had a second half of His plan that He revealed, the one He let everyone know was coming through His prophets.

You are also taking two totally different laws. There is a significant difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. There are lots of things declared in the Old Testament that are no longer existent today. One major one being sacrifices. This is because the moment that Jesus Christ died on our sins that he was the ultimate sacrifice. You have a different route that you can take to get to heaven since that point in history. We still hold the Old Testament in our bible because there were many prophecies made during hte Old Testament times that were fulfilled in the New Testament. They still go hand-in-hand with one another.

Amen ...:D To add. Faith brings obedience, which brings works, so though works are not the key to heaven, they are the result of faith.

And the result of effort. Its a personal relationship between you and the lord, hes not gonna carry me through by himself, he wants me to work also. Effort is what comes day by day to not drift away from the lord. Having the gift of salvation and working hard to keep it are 2 different things. If it took no work then i would say to the lord "take me now" for i dont have any need to be tested anymore:), effort is part of that tricky thing called "free will".

Well everybody I went to Church this week and I really enjoyed it!

The preacher really talked about some things that I needed to hear to get my sons in gear. I even went back after service and helped move some stuff around for the work crew to come in monday.

It felt good to worship GOD with others and it was an honor to help GOD's house with work.

    I'll be going again soon.
