My personal site has a blog section and I have few articles related to web designing. And I found that My blog posts have a page rank of 3 and my home page's page rank is 0. How could this happen??

I've seen this a few times. Its true that it could be your links are pointing to your articles. Another possibility is that if your site has attracted a penalty, resulting in your front page page rank being set to 0, this will still pass juice internally to your inner pages. If your articles are not directly penalized, they will show full juice (i.e. PR3). I thought I saw this situation when looking at the tnx.net web site a few days ago, but they all seem to be 0 there now.

But as said by Leprekon, if your inbound links are pointing to your articles rather than your front page, this would be natural without a penalty, and is nothing to worry about.

I'm not completley sure about every thing I just said, but I seem to have observed this a few times.

People linking to the post, not your home page.

Make sure there are links from the post to the homepage so the link juice can flow!

It's quite possible. Try to link your homepage with that page and you may get some link love from that page ;) :)

I agree. Some pages of my site are PR5, but the home page is PR4 and I think this is, as my site got a PR penalty as I've put some new links on it (to my new sites) - so my PR stayed on PR4 even if it shold already be PR5 or maybe even PR6.

It just means your blog is more popular than your homepage as far as where people are linking to. This is the same with one of my sites where the blog is more popular.

Try to give link from your blog to home page,so that traffic can divert to your home page.

Also go for some directory submission and relevant link exchange to boost your backlinks

I noticed that my site is been featured in more than 20 CSS showcasesand they all are linked to my site. Also I have submitted my site some link directories. Still If I search for backlinks, google returns 0 result. If I search simply with my website tittle, google returns about 700 results with links back to my site.. :(

Here's how to see your backlinks link:www.domain.com other searching your website title on search box is just a normal query and the results is not your backlinks.

Thank you.. and I know how to search backlinks.. What I meant was my site is listed in some sites and I am getting a good hit from them.. 65% of my unique visitors have entered to my site using those referal links only (from google analytics report). but still google doesn't see any links back to my website..! are the refereal links different from backlinks??

They say now that every URL is treated as its own standalone domain, but your internal linking paths still pass rank and authority. So, make sure you use good internal links to get people from the high PR pages to the ones you want them to see. This will pass along click traffic and PR as well.

Not all of the links that you build are crawled by google they only pick quality links.

Its just because Google assign PR for a particular page not for your site. OK
