Is it ok to get these kind of domains?...are domains without dashes better?...or does it even matter?

    Thanks!

it depends if its .com and a great 2 word domain its good but like the word are cut down from its orginal and it have other extension like .net and its long then its worthless until you are trying to devlop a site in it

Absolutely they are amazing! The reason is that domains with dashes are
    a) easier for humans to read
    b) able to have your keywords in the domain, seperated by dashes means that Search engines are more likely to find it!

There are heaps of people using dashes in their domains - me included and it gets a lot more hits with the human visitors!

I don't like domains with dashes ..having a two words joint with a dash to form a keyword is technically good
but it happen in reality that people do remember domain without a dash even more better
one thing is important here : mouth spread markting those domains is hard I mean dash domains are heavy on the tongue
    lets take an example :

saying "digitalpoint dot com" on the phone is a lot easier than saying "digital dash point dot com"

Dashed domains are only good if you own the dashed and undashed version.

I believe no dash is important if you want people to remember your domain and type it in. If you are relying on link and SE traffic than a dash won't hurt.

I've been wondering about this a lot too. I just registered a domain with a dash for the first time a couple days ago. I'll be relying a lot more on organic SE and PPC traffic than anything so I'm not too worried about it. But.. I'd rather have the name without the dash because people are more familiar with domains that way.

One thing that helped convince to get the domain was that I wrote a list of websites that I visit fairly regularly (by typing in the domain) and there was a lot more domains with dashes than I realized.

Domains with dashes are mostly not good for indexing on search engines.

    Good luck.

Hypens are not that appealing, too much work explaining your name to someone in person or on the phone. They are ok for keywords in a two word name if your just parking, it's not too important or you have a very short L-L.com etc.

If you're going to say something about hyphenated domains, you need to get your facts straight first! ;)

Domains with hyphens are easier for search engines to read. Long, un-hyphenated names are read by MOST search engines as just a bunch of jumbled letters.

This information was posted recently on ProWEB.com by a domainer that's been buying and selling for a number of years.

if you're looking to build a brand around the domain maybe it's better to look for another one

if you just need a keyword rich domain for a landing page / money making site then go for the dashed one and save the time you'd need to find a better one
