Whilst Bush, Blair, Cheney and Rumsfeld lied non-stop in the WMD hoax this man seems to have slipped under the radar. Colin Powell I would say he was equally as guilty as the rest of the scum.
Though he was sceptical in the end he still went along with the crazy gang so I say he is guilty of at least taking part in the process. So yea if we was not a scumbag he should have done the honorable thing and refused to go along with the lie and just resign instead.
Pretty sad you criticize people for lying by posting false statements. Your saying the bush admin is lying, yet it has not been proven beyond your little conspiracy theory minds. Really really sad. Just so i dont get accused for defending Anyone, I am not saying they are innocent, but calling them liers at this point is premature.
It is really strange and unnatural for someone like you from the UK to so strongly side and support Bush. Care to explain?
Supporting fact is hardly supporting Bush, & lying about facts is not a good way to show you don't support Bush. We see your behaviour everyday, so maybe now you can give it a rest?
NO I will not give it a rest, so scum like your favorite terrorist (Bush) can continue to wreak havoc. I will continue to expose his lies and call you up on yours as long as I can. If you don't like to hear the truth than thats your problem. You continue to support scum warmongers and terrorists, I will continue to expose them to as many people as I can for who they are. Send me your address I'll send you some free BushGuilty t-shirts.
yada, yada, yada - You assume the man has lied, you do not know & that is FACT! lol Then you go on to assume Colin is also a liar based on the first assumption lol
I wish you could say that to my face. I would love to shove you right back into the hole you came from. You coward terrorist supporter!
It would be all good and well, if you would expose the facts, rather than your opinions and theories, which in total amount to a big pile of Rhinoceros dung. Truth is, you call one person a lier, by posting your personal theories as facts. A fact can not in any way be disputed. Your pathetic conspiracy theories, are easily disputed. If anyone intentionally lied, and that was a fact, Bush would not be president any longer. Now I'm not saying that the future will not present it as a fact, but like i have said many times, as of now, you are the lier.
There is a difference in making a mistake, and intentionally lying. you are saying he intentionally lied, yet you have no evidence to prove his intention. A little hint, it would take a confession, to prove for FACT that bush and his admin intentionally lied.
Are you listening to yourself? If he lied, or misled, or whatever he did to get us into this war whatever label you put to the reasons, the fact and the matter is that thousands have died because of someone's incompetence, lies, misinformation or stupidity. You are acting like a child on focusing on semantics. I'm done with this idiotic topic of having to prove to you what the rest of humanity knows already. Wake up!
The fact is that there is not one shred of evidence that Bush and company lied about anything. Just because some people don't want to believe what he said does not make it a lie. The British, French, Germans and Russian intelligence agencies also said that he had the WMDs--and the Russians told us he was planning a chemical attack in the USA. These countries ought to know, they sold Saddam the weapons just the same as the USA. Try to tell the Kurds that Saddam didn't have chemical weapons. The WMDs most likely did exist, but were moved to Syria, which is what the Israelis said when we hit Iraq. Iraq is a big contry. They could also be buried almost anywhere. There is no doubt that the WMDs existed. The real questions is, where are they now?
Techevangalists, Isreal has not one shred of evidence and neither do you. I think your spreading more bs. Do you seriously think that isreal will say anything else? and syria holding the wmd's is hillarious at best. Syria and saddam were more bitter enemies then he was with america, and if you actually knew anything about that region you would understand that. It was hafez assad who betrayed saddam the most by going against him during the first gulf war and theyw ere always at odds with each other. You really dont know a thing about the middle east do you. You making blannket statements with no proof whatsoever. Its like a 5 year old going into a college history course and explaining the course to them. They would think hes cute but would anyone take him seriously? If you also did more reading then you would understand that the iraq study group allready debunked all the bs your passing around these threads because the only wmd's they found were early 1980's eroded weapons that posed no threat to anyone.
If you wanna know more about our foreign policies dont ask the regular insulated tv watcher here who takes everything he reads as the gospel truth. Go and talk to the people around the world, go to the people of iran and ask them how we helped destroy democracy in their country in the 1950's. I bet you guys anything that 30 years from now just as they found out our role with mossadegh we will find out more about our administrations role in the iraq war. Its happened throughout every foreign policy operation from the 1950's till now. Dont believe me, go to the librarty of national congress and look online for documents pertaining to the freedom of information act. Why do you think that act was created? It was created to help us understand what our government was doing behind our backs. You who " us" is? The american people!!!!!!!!!
IMHO I feel that he was a soldier who obeyed his superiors, personally I think he was a man of dignity torn between duty and conscience.
If he was a man of conscience he would have expressed his opinion right there before he resigned. He at least owed that to the american people. He was a smart cookie who knew what was going on, but i can understand how he feared speaking out. most people being in that position would have been also( i probably would have also been fearful).
The reference link is an interesting read. Personally, IMHO, I don't hold Powell responsable in the same vein as with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and their advisors. Per the book about Paul O'Neill's time at the Treasury Department and other sources, Powell was more or less on the outside with regard to the development of foreign policy. He was often caught off guard by developments from within the White House. I agree in the concept that he was more or less the good soldier in doing the bidding of the President. I can't recall the citations but somewhere I recall reading that in the few days run up to the speech at the UN Cheney made some comment about Powell having the most credibility before the world, the press and the American Public with regard to making the case about WMD. The fact is that everyone in power believed there were WMD. Saddam faked out the entire world. Yes he was part of the process. No...in my mind he is not as culpable as Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld.
