    Hi DP'ers

I'm looking for some advice from experienced SEO people.

I'm currently working on a few websites in fairly competative sectors and I'm at a bit of a road block.

Some of the sites are seemingly stuck around positions 11-15 for a few phrases and have been for a few months...no matter what I do, they don't seem to move.
*If they do move, its usually down a place or two and then back to where it was.

Is there anything that can be done to speed up their upward movement?

I have been using the below:
    - Directory Submissions
    - Article Submissions
    - Social Networking Sites
    - 3 Way Links
    - Regular Site Updates

I have tried to stay away from direct link exchanges, mainly due to the sector where it wouldn't be a good idea to try and send visitors to another site (hence the three way links).

I have done some on site SEO, ensuring that the keyphrases are included in the titles, description, keywords and throughout the website.

Due to the nature of the site's content, fellow relevant sites tend not to link to it in order to avoid helping competition.

I'm looking for some advice and please don't simply reply with "gain backlinks" as that's what I've been doing and isn't constructive :)

If anybody would be kind enough to offer advice or have a look, I will gladly PM you the URLs and targetted keyphrases.

With the recent trend in sites selling links being downgraded, not too sure if buying links would be of much use in the long run?

If you're buying a whole lot of backlinks and you're buying from places that Google has flagged as selling links, they either will not count or will actually penalize you. Could this be why you're getting bumped down slowly?

text-link-ads.com is a good start, if you want to go that route.

I haven't bought any links at all and don't intend on doing so as I don't think they will be of any benefit in the long run.

To get this back on topic, is there anything anybody could suggest or be willing to take a look to give an informed opinion?

    Well Mate,

SEO is continues process when ever you will stop promoting your website you competitor go beyond to your reach and your website SEO results automatically go down. And about back links if your link is published on relevant page with PR2 then you surely got better SERP’s results. Because now days Google white wash the pages rank value of all crap pages.

According to my opinion I think you have used wrong Keywords phrases while doing on page optimization or you have used wrong anchor text while doing off page optimization of your website. Tell me your targeted keywords and your website URL.
