what is your opinion on full page ads? Adbrite recommends using their full page ad service. Does anyone have any comments on this? I'm using it on one of my blogs but some people say they don't like it and others don't say a word.

I personally don't like to come across any page I'm not expecting and it does make me think less of the site in question. However, if you've got big traffic then full page ads are a good way of boosting your income.

So if I interpret this correctly it would be better to remove the full page ads until I build up more traffic then when I get to a level that's significant it would be ok to place them there then?

    Thanks

I get annoyed everytime when I see full page ads. if you want to get repeat visitors, I think you shouldnt use full page ads.

That is what I would do. If your traffic is only slight at the moment you don't want to alienate those visitors with full page ads.

Full page ads, popups, popunders and the like are annoying, and I personally would not run them on any site I owned.

When I goto a site with these ads, I leave.

Yeah that sounds like a common philosophy. I've removed them from the site in question.

    Thanks :)

Also, you might want to note that the full page ads that AdBrite serves allow visitors to bounce from your site and never come back. Doesn't sound like a good way to build repeat visitors.

If you're really sold on using them, set their appearance to a lower frequency. This will allow users to move around a few pages before they're slammed with one of these big annoyances.

I'm definitely not sold on them. My site doesn't really have enough traffic to make much cash yet so I'd rather get the hits for now.
