Yahoo needs more innovation. An example of this working is Yahoo answers.. yeah and i wonder why gmail is getting more popular than yahoo mail. I personally think yahoos email is better than gmail's.

How do you brand a search engine? Have actors in movies say "Why dont you google it? No I use Yahoo, its a better search enigne"

Thats my vote....Might cost a few hundred million.......They could have Google Front the money :)

First thing Yahoo needs to do is get rid of its spam.

Spam sites are the reason I don't use Yahoo as often as Google.

They need to get back to basics and fix the shit that people take for granted that work at other engines.

"yahoos email is better than gmail's"

Maybe its better, but its not easier. I have gmail, hotmail and yahoo and can tell you that out of all 3 gmail is the most easiest to use and quickest to shoot off an email with minimal clicks.

Yahoo ranks #3 in amount of traffic , even if it loses a few thousand visitors it won't hurt them badly . Maybe they would gain some next week .

Well, who are using the Alexa toolbar? Are you?
No, only people with small computer knowledge are installing the Alexa toolbar(often by mistake).

It is the traffic of THESE people that is seen on Alexa

It's not going to die tomorrow or anything....but it will die eventually if they don't sell it/merge or try to get back on top of their game.

I personally feel that Yahoo! is great in it's own sense. I mean, though Google is the current hot-hot thing, but Yahoo! was a champ, and will be a rockstar.

A valuation of $ 50 Billion dollars, no way they are dying. They have some very good products in their hand like del.icio.us, flickr, answers, messenger, yahoo mail and so many others. In mail market google holds just 5%. I know there are lot of google fan boys here but realize google is getting stronger, when corporations get stronger they start dictating users what to do and what not to do.

If Microsoft does not buy Yahoo, Google will have no competitor, already we are seeing publishers getting 1 cent per click, Google advertising revenue increases where as web publishers ad revenue decreases. When market is growing so fast why are web publishers making less money than previous years. Google is stealing money from us.
