If you post comments on peoples myspace pages with a link to your site does that count as a backlink?
I'm pretty sure Myspace went NoFollow a while back, so it won't do you much good as a back link. However, if you are commenting on popular pages, it might be worthwhile for the traffic it brings.
It's not nofollow, but they reroute all links through msplinks.com - so I think the majority consensus is that it doesn't do much, if anything for backlinks.
thanks guys, I was just curious because I have a myspace account for my site with like 6,000+ friends. Guess i'll just stick to bulletin traffic
Backlinks in myspace are helpful to drive traffic to your site but when it comes to improvement of SERP I don't think it can help because the links are only redirected to sites URL.
Traffic from comments , thats a good way to look at it. If it's redirected it wont help you in SERPs .
