I'm about to start sports blogs, is it more beneficial to have them as myblog.blogger.com or mysite.com/blog in terms of AdSense CPM earnings, Search Engine rankings, etc. If I'm to have the same number of in-bound links to myblog.blogger.com or to mysite.com/blog, will Search Engines crawl the blog with Blogger more often, value its key-words higher in search results and earned it good Page Rank easier than if the blog is within my own web-site that comes with a home-page PR lower than Blogger's PR 9?
not to say that you can easily get page rank because you are in the subdomain mate. btw, buy your own domain and get hosted..you will earn more because advertiser loves private domain
Definitely your own site. Total control and you own all of the assets. It doesn't hurt to set up little blogs on blogger and wordpress though. Two more inbound links to your real blog, and you don't have to put much effort into them to keep them alive.
Thank you all for valuable info. I thought having a blog at Blogger would for some reasons make it more Google-Friendly, that is if you have the same amount of in-bound links, Google would visit more often something that is a part of PR9 Blogger community.
If you value your blog do not host it on a free site (ie; blogger), it can be yanked from you even if you've done nothing wrong. All it takes is a maniacal bot that flags your site as SPAM and you're done.
i was wondering this also whats the quickest blog script to setup?? i know wordpress only takes 2 mins but can be annoying when your installing 10aday
Actually wordpress can be installed in around 30 seconds on most hosts using fantastico. Uninstalls just as quick to
For long term, mysite.com/blog is better than myblog.blogger.com. But I suggest you to set up myblog.com by using blogger.com. Blogger never allows traffic statistic. Even though you can add third party tracking to it, I prefer use paid web hosting. Because traffic statistic of the paid web hosting is better than the third party tracking.
Having own domain is definitely better. In case you intend to do paid reviews, many blog assignments insist on personal domains. Even otherwise, if you want to have great content and traffic, it is better to develop your own brand name
Thank y'all. I have decided to have 2 blogs on my site and 2 on Blogger (4 overall) and see where each one will take me.
If you have a domain name that is already out of the Google Sandbox, I would say that it will be great to use your domain for the new blog as Blogger blog will definitely be out of the Sandbox once they are set up. Hence, will be getting more trust from Google right from the beginning.
for long term white hat... of course your own domain and good quality hosting, but, still if you are new to it you can start from blogger just to try and experiment a bit and then when you will have some experience and will know for sure what you need then you go to your own big business
dont go for blogger , they will wipe your whole dashboard without even asking / notifying you get your domain ,it is lot better
I would have gone with 4 out of 4 blogs on Blogger but went 2 on Blogger 2 on my site after comments here at DP. My remark about Blogger blogs is pure design, I post info about 3 World Sports Celebrities (Ana Ivanovic & Jelena Jankovic , Novak Djokovic) that in some extent may be unique in the English speaking world but there is little freedom to modify simple outlook of blogs making them look modest over all.
I have a great application to start on your website, its free and has tons of plugins, I think its better than wordpress, I recommend to all to install it and experiment... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2541862#post17967534
